Version 2.8 of the WA2FZW/M0WID software for the ESP32/ILI9341 hardware is available 26
This is basically the same code that David uploaded a few days ago (Version 2.7d) with a few bug fixes and a couple more enhancements. You can find it here along with the updated documentation. ( /g/HBTE/files/WA2FZW%20-%20M0WID%20ESP32%20-%20ILI9341%20Version%20of%20the%20TinySA/ ) Changes: Fixed the problem of not being able to display the gain trace on the web page if it wasn't enabled on the display. Reorganized the data on the left side of the screen and moved the operating mode to the bottom of the display and moved the number of web connections into the left side stuff. You can now pick your own colors for the traces in the "My_SA.h" file. Added a scale on the right side of the screen for the gain trace. It goes away if you turn off the gain trace. The scale color matches the selected gain trace color. If you turn on the averaging trace, the display on the left side of the screen will change to the same color as the color you selected for that trace. You can now use either the "PREAMP" command or the "GAIN" command to set the preamp gain. When the RBW or preamp gain are set to ¡°auto¡±, the data fields are displayed in green. If a specific value is set for either the data fields turn orange (easier on the eyes than red). The actual RBW value is shown regardless of whether it is auto mode or a specific value is chosen. There are still a couple of bugs (some known and probably more unknown)! Again, this is still under development and neither David or I are in a position to provide full support for it, but bug reports will be appreciated. Next steps: Finish up reorganizing the touch menus and to the extent possible having all options available in both the serial command handler and the touch screen. Hopefully, David will continue with the web page enhancements before worrying about other modes and other enhancements. Let me know what you think and see if you find any issues. We think there are some problems setting values of things from the web page, but it seems intermittent. David is aware. Enjoy! -- John P. WA2FZW

Hello...
Hello, It¡¯s been more than a year since I got my hands on the Simple SA. I am busy transforming an Agilent 54810 (see forum eevblog) and it takes me a lot of time in addition to ordinary occupations. I hope to finish soon and get back on track. I do not even know where we are versions LOL The 500mhz oscilloscope (if it ever works) will be more useful for tracking signals. Greetings.

tinySA-> simpleSA compiling sketch issues 2
Hi Om's I know this was an old project 2020 - and that has been abondend - BUT i am interested in it as i want to include it in my next Ultra wide hf- uhf radio i am collaborating to build .. After spending a weekend trying to compile the software i concluded that arduino ide must be in the range of 1.8.10 esp core must be version 1.0.4 ..6 libraries 2.1.4 .. 6 tft_espi must have the touch pin defined as per file in the archive .. altough having all this setup i still get the min error - where the compiler is expecting two values where cchrono wupplies only one .. so i will keep trying .. but if anyone has managed to compile it . then please come forward and share your findings ... maybe someday i can compile it and build it.. 73's Jason 9H5BM

Specan (Farhan¡¯s) and IMD Testing 2
I completed almost my version of Farhan¡¯s SPECAN (reboot of W7ZOI). I am getting low IMD results. I use Butler oscillators at 7.028 and 7.038 MHz, and getting about 1 dBm for IMD when using -28 dBm power levels. The 3rd order intermod is at -82 dBm. Any suggestions how I can find the stage that is generating problems? Farhan¡¯s YOUTUBE video shows about 15 dBm. Should I try replace or improve the 2N3904 post mixer amplifier? I have ADE-1 mixers, MAV11 amps, and my oscillators are at 4 dBm levels.

Homebrew spectral analyzer 178
Hello, New on this forum dedicated to analyzers, I saw this article on an analyzer that seems "easy" to build with commercial components. https://github.com/exDB2O/tinySA/blob/master/Build%20instructions%20for%20the%20Tiny%20Spectrum%20Analyzer.pdf I don¡¯t know if this is still current, if something new exists, but in fact I like this modularity and simplicity of manufacture. The area I¡¯m interested in is short-wave radio, so maximum frequencies of 50mhz. So it¡¯s in the frequency band. My questions: Have you already manufactured, are there any gerber files for the 434MHZ filter, etc, etc. First technical question, I think you have to buy a filter or 2 ( the filter photo is not clear) like this 434mhz filter en vente - | eBay ( https://www.ebay.fr/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=434mhz+filter&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=pe4302&_osacat=0 ) Does the use of the app work the first time? (I¡¯m on W10). Anyway, I¡¯m waiting for you to come back cdt

jFET oscillator on Specan 33
Hi, Trying to get a JFet oscillator to work. I'm using Ashar Farhans schematic for his spectrum analyzer. (100 mhz 2nd Oscillator) So far I've built two boards and burned out Q1 in each board even though I've checked all the traces/components with ohm meter/cap checker. Any one had experience with this design? I used the MPF 102 j fets, but have since sent for j310's (which is what Ashar originally used. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzRNYeu10K6DdE1CSDVfZUdTdzg/view?resourcekey=0-m4_gR-o3xRUQfTF4m44fag

Specan Plotting for Windows no more? 2
I have run Specan on the Arduino, working; but no luck running Specan-UI on Windows 10 to get the plotting working for a sweep of frequency. I found a Chrome Extension on GitHub and also tried this as an alternative to the original UI program, but no luck! It wouldn¡¯t allow me to connect with any Com port, and the original Soecan-UI just crashed when I tried to connect a Com port. Is there any hope that these old routines can ever get updated to work on Windows 10 or am I missing something? Oh dear, I don¡¯t want to buy a Tiny Spectrum Analyzer¡ I would prefer to get Ashar Farhan¡¯s project finished and working¡maybe Inhave to revert to building the original W7ZOI fully hardware Specan.

fixed ... Sweeperino (for Specan) not displaying frequency
Ok, sorry to burden the group. I resolved the problem by inserting a delay(1000) statement inside the code as follows, so it seems this now allows the frequency to now be displayed on the LCD display! void setFrequency(unsigned long f){ if (si570 != NULL) si570->setFrequency(f); delay(1000); Another dragon slayed... now to proceed to complete the Specan aspect of the project!

Sweeperino (for Specan) not displaying frequency
Hi, I am nearing the end of a journey, slaying a few dragons. I can run Sweeperino on my Arduino Uno, but it doesn't display the Frequency numbers on the LCD line 1. I can see a quick flash of "Sweeperino 2.0" displayed on Line 1, when it starts up or is reset. But then the symbols for frequency remain blank, where they should be numbers. I can read the digits and "dBm" on the 2nd line of the LCD, as well as the rightmost numbers on the 1st line of the LCD. The frequency changes, as confirmed with a frequency counter, when I turn the pot control. But still no numbers displayed on LCD line 1. In the code, I simply commented out the Si5351 related lines, since I am using the Si570 as the oscillator. While it took me a while to get all the libraries sorted out, and the data lines correctly linked to the LCD. I know it is set up now since I verified with, a "Hello World" test (it worked), and then used the same display with the Radiono software, to compare, and it displays the frequency correctly on the LCD line 1. The LCD is on a DFRobot shield. And I powered it from the Arduino 5 V and then a separate external 5 V DC supply.. What dragon is left to slay?

Homebrew power supply 10
Hello, Good morning, I kind of left out the spectrum analyzer. I had a little time, so I started making my lab supply. Everything starts with a cheap Kit (8€) and a recovery toric -transformer. The kit has some faults. I will make some modifications. Not all?? See this site: Le blog ¨¦lectronique DIY de Paul: R¨¦glage d¡¯un kit de bricolage 0..30V DC 0..3A PSU (paulvdiyblogs.net) For the transfomer, I completely cleared the secondary. I made the ratio volts/ spire to reel secondary at my convenience. I will also add a volt/amp display and multi-turn buttons. There will also be 2 fixed outputs of 12 and 5 v 1A. The power supply must provide a minimum of 0 -->30 V, 3 A (or more?) I will double the output ballast as well. change also capacitor ++Big! The front is done, it¡¯s mechanical, but not equipped enough for it LOL Some work to do. Ha!! Less mechanics, but welding. Some picture + design of front panel cdt

Differential probe 2
hello, As I always have a little time, I look at the possible DIY of a differential probe. Will it ever serve? Pleasur to do lol In short, as on the active probe we use a fet BF998. As it is sold at ten for a few euros, we might as well take advantage of it to modify a scheme like this one. However, I don¡¯t see what is the action of all these transistors (*5) at the bottom of the page. I think we can simplify. If you can explain their role if possible ou send a modification In the same way the output circuit can be changed to gain bandwidth (Beause Bf998 are better) cdt

SimpleSA component selection 9
Recently, I saw the open source design of SimpleSA, and I thought it was great.Thank you very much for such an excellent design, which benefits most people. I wanted to make one at home, but after looking at the schematic diagram of the source design, I found several questions, which made it difficult for me to make one. 1.How to select components of LPF? PCB packaging? Most of the components selected for the source design are 0805. For general RF design, I think the package should be close to the PCB line width. For example, the 50 ohm line width should be 0.3424mm based on the stack of 7826. I would choose the 0402 component instead of the 0805, because it is closer to 0.3424mm. DCR/Q£¿ RFsim99 simulation results are as follows: When I find the device on JLC and input the parameters into RFsim99 for simulation, the results are as follows, which is slightly worse than the simulation results of ideal components 2.Why is the PCB trace width of RF signal 0.25mm? Don't you need to ensure 50R impedance matching? 3.The 30MHz crystal does not need to select VCTXO? I see that the 30MHz crystal in the si4432 module should be an ordinary passive crystal? No need to select VCTXO with better accuracy and stability? Is it because the software has RF calibration? 4.How should I choose a 470MHz SAW,JLCSC seems to have no such device?

A test equipment group I set up today
I registered a group a few years ago, but never used it. Today I decided to turn it into a group for the design and construction of test equipment. /g/Test-Equipment-Design-Construction The purpose of the group is not amateur radio, but test equipment in general, so something for measuring pH or viscosity would be on topic. I announced the group on a few other groups I managed, and made people aware of HBTE too. I think you have picked up about 10 new subscribers in the last couple of hours. Dave
