Sorry to hear you are still having trouble.? It may be my fault for not updating the pinout descriptions in the code comments - at work again so cannot easily check.
Lets start by making sure we are both working to the same schematic, and the same set up file for the display.

Note the reset connection for the display is connected to the reset (EN) of the ESP32, and the display uses the HSPI pins on the ESP32.
