Robert,
I thought? of just fitting the PE4302 chip but it might be a bit of a challenge for some, to fit it. Especially the pad under the chip. Safer, easier and maybe even cheaper to buy the module.

Hi Glenn (and John),

Understand.? I have a lot of experience with QFN's but they can be very challenging for some to install.? You are exactly correct about the module vs. part cost, the modules are similar to cheaper!? I'm sure you know that both the PE4302's and SI4432's are obsolete/not for new designs, so there may be a supply problem in the future.? For the PE4302, Peregrine is recommending PE4312 and there are a few other parts in the SI4432 family, not sure of their status.

I admit that upon first looking at the PCB's I thought "why not put the module parts on the board?" but the more I read/understand I see the value of having the modules.? Some "future-proofing" might be a good endeavor going forward though.

I bought the filter chips (expensive!) too, even knowing that they have no place on the V1 boards.? Guess I am "future-proofing" my parts stores a bit!

Thank you for allowing me to join the group, BTW.
