That is ONE of the problems associated with Hercules's inability to directly support WiFi adapters, yes, but it is certainly not the main problem.
The MAIN problem is that wired Ethernet adapters and wireless WiFi adapters are two completely different physical types of devices, and mainframes only support wired Ethernet type networking devices, not wireless WiFi networking devices.
I dare *anyone* to successfully use HCD to configure *any* type of wireless WiFi networking device into their IODF.
Mainframes are simply NOT considered "portable" devices. A mainframe can't "roam around". You can't take a mainframe with you when you go out shopping, like you can with a laptop.
Mainframes were designed to only support good old fashioned wired 802.3 Ethernet networking devices. Wireless WiFi technology is completely foreign to mainframes.
"Wifi? Wireless? What's THAT?! I'm a mainframe, dammit!"
