just to keep you updated on the situation.
My issue has been totally resolved with the (great) help of Fish.
I have bought a USB-to-RJ45 ethernet adapter.
i plugged it in my laptop USB port and after rebooting (that was the missing piece, txs Fish !), i was able to get it to work
The CTCI-WIN driver is able to detect the interface successfully, and no errors are reported after doing a TTTest64 test.
Also ping test was successful in both ways !
i have IPLed my z/OS and TCPIP and it all worked great !
?i can ping from z/OS to the external world, using IP addresses and hostnames
i can contact my other laptops on my home network in both directions.
So the Fish's CTCI-WIN driver works like a charm with those types of USB-to-ETH connectors.
Because all my adresses were in the same subnet, i did not have any issue with the windows or TCPIP mask definitions, as warned by some in this thread.
I want to thank you all for providing advices and guidance.
This forum was a great source of help and information.
