I have a 3350 volume I have loaded up using dasdload. attached to Hercules, and mounted. Using TK3UPD. AFAIK, I have not changed the master catalog password.
I go to catalog one of the datasets on it (using RFE), and (in TSO) get prompted for the password to SYS1.VMASTCAT (expected, it has an unusual HLQ). Type SECRET.
IEC331I 056-012,WEGSCD? ,IKJACCNT,RCU ,IGG0CLB6
...and RFE tells me the catalog request failed.
Tried upper case, lower case, caps lock, all no good. Did a trace on the x3270 session to make sure the correct characters were being sent.
Same problem using RPF.
Can I somehow verify (and/or change!) the password from the console?
