New to groups.io trying to set up Easy Transfer
Ann, Can anyone point me to how I¡¯m supposed to fill in my Grouos.io name that I want my Yahoo Group ?transferred?? I was on the page and there appears to be a drop down but all I see is a dash placeholder and I¡¯m not able to type a name in. You must be logged in as an Owner of the group. Check the badge when you visit the group's pages: If there's no badge next to the Home button then you're logged in using an email address which is merely a member of the group (or not logged in at all, but you must be in order to see the Transfer page). Do groups allow more than one owner?Yes, owners, as well as moderators, are unlimited.? Remember that all owners have equal footing though.? For something like this, the owner may well make you a co-owner, then revoke it after the transfer if they want.? Or do the transfer themselves. Duane |
Ann,
but not receiving an email with further instructions on how to updateIt sounds like you are in Step 2, having invited the transfer agent to your Yahoo Group. See "Monitor the Transfer Process" in Step 2 here: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups#Step-2-E28094-Set-Up-and-Start-the-Transfer-Process If you haven't read the rest of that page to ensure you're following all the required steps in the the correct order. So I just wait for an email now?Use the Transfer status page to watch for it to say that they've received the invitation. Shal |
Thank you for pointing me to that info in the WIKI. Much more detail there. I don¡¯t know why I couldn¡¯t find that, it would have walked me thru a lot. After reading that I believe I¡¯m at Step 5. Now I¡¯m just crossing my fingers the Yahoo stuff gets resolved as new transfers on on hold. Thank you all for your help
