Status update on Yahoo Transfer page not working

I did everything the instructions say to begin transferring my Yahoo group.? I made my group premium on Oct. 23.? On Oct. 24, I made "Groups.Io"? (last name "Transfer"; email?[email protected]) a moderator of my Yahoo group.? Whatever there was to click, I then clicked to begin a transfer, but people here have written about some button showing where their Yahoo group is in the queue to move data over, and I can see nothing, have received nothing, and? can't click on "View Existing Transfer Status" b/c it isn't a hot link, merely words on the page followed by blank space.? ?There's no further information on the page or suggestions of where to go to see if my group is in the Yahoo group transfer queue and where it is in that queue.

Out of frustration, once or twice more I pressed the button "Set Up a New Transfer" in hopes that might solve the problem, but nothing has changed on?/yahootransfer?. Should I be on some other page to see this information? How can I tell if my group is in the queue, and how to get it there already if it's not??

Please advise.

TIA.

Jane

  1. From Groups.io, go to the bottom of the page, from the bottom menu bar, select Easy Group Transfer
  2. From the bottom of the page, select the Yahoo Group Instructions button
  3. At the bottom right of the page should be a list titled View Existing Transfer Status:, select the group you want to check on
  4. In the near the top of the page is a section titled Transfer Status, it will list the status. It should be in Stage 3 of 4, if it is, it will list the number of groups ahead of you.?

Example:

Transfer Status
Your group is awaiting import into Groups.io. There are about 671 groups ahead of it in the queue. [Stage 3 of 4]

I hope this helps.

Thanks for trying, Bob, but what I'm trying to explain is that no group is listed at #3 in your steps (where I'm supposed to see something after or below the words "View Existing Transfer status:")-- there's nothing listed, and there's also no section or dropdown at the top, bottom, or side of the page http:.groups.io/yahootransfer ?called "Transfer status."

One new notification appeared when I again clicked on the "set up a new transfer" button, ?a?message that read, ?"That Yahoo group is already part of another transfer."

"Part of" --is this progress? Should I look for the status on another URL??

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment anyone can provide.

Jane

Jane,

... what I'm trying to explain is that no group is listed at #3 in your steps (where I'm supposed to see something after or below the words "View Existing Transfer status:")-- there's nothing listed, ...

The status can only be seen by the account that initiated the transfer. And in all things Groups.io, "account" means the email address you logged in with. You can see that address by clicking or hovering over your name, in the upper right corner of any Groups.io page.?

One new notification appeared when I again clicked on the "set up a new transfer" button, ?a?message that read, ?"That Yahoo group is already part of another transfer."

So that means that either you, when logged in using a different account (address), or some other owner of a Groups.io group, has initiated a transfer from that same Yahoo Group. So now you need to figure out who, or log in to that other account. If it wasn't you, the only way to find out is to ask [email protected], but they may not take action without first verifying that the other transfer has been abandoned.

Shal, thank you so much. As it turns out, I'd inadvertently begun (but not correctly) a transfer when signed in under a separate "member" (but not owner) email (which I did in order to? see what members see, the better to write some user instructions for them). That transfer request was stuck because the destination group name was incomplete and couldn't be corrected, but Mark responded to my support query, and the transfer process has actually begun.

Appreciate your input!
