Hi all, I followed the instructions in the GMF on transferring my Yahoo group (5700 members, 6 GB content) and three days later it says "Complete" on the Easy Transfer page.? 5500 members and many messages were transferred, but only one file and one photo have showed up in the new io group. If I delete the completed transfer request, will it also delete users or just the transfer request itself??? I emailed groups.io and they suggested I check with people in GMF. The transfer agent may have had a problem accessing the material from Yahoo. Go to your old Yahoo group and see if you can access the "missing" material as a start. Check the amount of storage used on Yahoo, and compare it with the amount of storage the Groups.io reports you as occupying in your new group. Chris

Hi Chris!
Thanks for the suggestions; I can see, manually DL and access the files and Photos in the old Yahoo Group.? groups.io shows 67KB occupied by files and 0 KB by photos.? I cannot find the Yahoo content size but it is several GB, there are over 100 photos and as many files..
My worry is if I wait to see if they move over I will lose the window of accessing them.

If you go to Photos>Albums... the total space used will show above the first row of pics.
I don't know when you did this, but I noticed my lists and many others had no photos showing up until about the 17th recently, and then they magically came back. So if you did it before then, you might have picked a bad time. Clicking on them before that just put up a server error message, and I'm pretty sure it was like that for days, maybe weeks. The header photos weren't showing either.

If you haven't received the email from Groups.io saying that the transfer is complete, it isn't.? That email will also have a summary of anything that couldn't be copied. Well you should be all right for a few days, anyway! Rather than delete anything I suggest an email to [email protected] to report that Files and Photos have not been imported from Yahoo. To avoid the need for anyone asking don't forget to include details of the recipient Groups.io group name and that of the donor Yahoo group. Chris

Mark has asked that we only report bugs for now.? Asking about things like this would only create a bigger work load, possibly slowing down actual transfers.? If the Complete email hasn't been received, it would be a wasted effort anyway. Fair point... but while accepting that it would be wrong to report the problem until after the "Completed" email has turned up, if the transfer is still missing chunks of material I think a report would be in order; after all people will have paid for a "complete" transfer (within the limitation of any Yahoo anomalies) so the question would arise "just how long do I have to leave it before I can report this?" In that case, if it's not mentioned on the report, I'd definitely contact support.? For things that are mentioned, you just do another transfer of only that part of the group. So it looks as if the state of Yahoo at the time the transferal was attempted caused the problem.? I have tried two utilities to archive teh Yahoo site and both failed, despite the fact that I can see and DL the Files and Photos...How do I proceed?

If I try a new transfer of just files and/or photos by deleting the competed transfer in the "Easy Yahoo Group Transfer Setup" page, will it affect the current .io group?

Yeah, I used PGoffline for years as well, but it is now dysfunctional with YGs.
I took your advice and deleted the old transfer completed task and started a new one, this time only photos...I'll report back how it goes.

Our experiences differ...when I try to log in to do anything, it gives an authentication error, even though it never has in the past, and all credentials are correct.? I have tried tens of times and no joy.

Same to me. I have an old yahoo account, my login isn't an email
address, its a name. PG Offline don't work with this.
I had to set up a new account at yahoo, with this account it
works like a charm.
I allreaddy made a backup for myself of 5 groups without any
issues.
So my panic settle to loose all this stuff...
A fast and stable internetconnection helps for my opinion.
It looks normal to me that some old attachements could not be
transfered. But I talk about attachements from 2003 to 2006. This
don't hurt me.

A second transfer attempt with only Photos selected has worked.? The only rub is the first attempt had populated the Photos section with empty markers for each photo...which were not deleted when the new ones were loaded.
I'm not going to complain about this at this point, at least the photos did transfer the second time.? I have started a third transfer to get the files over, hopefully that will be as successful!

If so, you will need to change some things before you can get past the authentication error.
The telcos use their own password scheme, so you can have a common password for email, home phone, and cellphone. Yahoo warned you about this several months ago and told you to get a real Yahoo ID to manage the groups. Did you do it?
I did and made it a moderator. Then I logged in with that ID and made my old ID a moderator, too.
But to make PGO work, I have to use the new Yahoo ID. Simply repeat my process and PGO will be able to log in, using the new ID.

I have had the same real KX3list@...?account for six years.? It still works to access and moderate the group.? Maybe I need to get yet another yahoo ID and give it moderator privileges?
