Well, hopefully one of the other members, can help you here. I'm not for sure of a storage limit being involved before a lot of groups had to go to the premium status because of other things. But I may be wrong. Hopefully somebody else here can help.

Do you need to keep all the data on your group? You can download it and save it elsewhere like Dropbox, etc. Or set up a timed tag that deletes a message after the period has elapsed.?

There is an extra cost for larger groups. See this in the GMF wiki - /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/25069

At
risk of barking up the wrong tree ... try going to (top right) your
account > Settings > Billing. Can you add a card there? I have a
feeling (that I can't sure about) that a card has to be added to a personal
account (of someone with billing privileges) before it can be nominated for
use by a particular group.
As others have said,
Sponsorship is the simpler way to go. Just annually enable Sponsorship, add
funds from PayPal, disable Sponsorship.

You only need a Stripe account if you will be accepting Donations for your group.? It will NOT be used as payment for a group.

As far as payments for a group, any reserves are used first, then the balance is charged if there's a valid payment method set up.

Note that I am now registered with the Stripe (I understand it is a competitor of PayPal) application for payments after I first tried to change the payment method.? Perhaps forcing you to Stripe is now the behavior set by the application.? You will have to use Stripe if you change your payment method. I just want to be sure that the reserve credit is taken into account when Groups.io charges my card through Stripe.? I tried contacting the owner/administrator of Groups.io but that puts me on a sales page for prospective new groups.?

I suggest you click "Sponsor This Group" yourself and just contribute another $85. Then you'll have $220 in the fund and the renewal will come out of that.

Rather than have my card info stored on another server, I use it through Paypal (where it's always stored) to make a sponsorship for the balance due.? That also prevents an accidental charge to it for anything that may go wrong.

I think that they have to do it themselves. If they're unable to do it, you can ask them to send you an email me a login link, then you would be able to just go in and just change their entire profile to say that name, and then they would automatically be listed
on all of their groups. Then you can request an email me a login link for your own account when you're done messing with their account. I think that would honestly be the best situation in all cases.

I just decided to test making someone a moderator. My test group has one subgroup.
I gave all permissions as moderator to my other email address.
However under Admin, I could not see Members. I could get to it from Subgroups, Members.
And when I clicked on a group member from that list, it just flipped to the group home page.
?
Can someone else test this please? Very odd.
