changing members name as a mod with privilages

Hello all
First I need to apologize to Ms. Frances for misleading in how I worded my outcome.

I did contact Mark Fletcher, I contacted the person who created the group and sub groups that I am speaking of.
There are 2 sub groups that I need to change the display name of a troubled member as it is a sensitive matter.
?
I have been up all night trying to figure it out, I have been applying all the wonderful hints and tips but to no avail.
I am wondering if the member has to go in to that one group and make the changes herself, which is very disappointing because use to be that I as mod or owner was able to do this for my members.
Especially if they are less savvy than I.
?
I contacted the host of the group and I did let him know that maybe he has to set the settings where mods can make these small changes upon request, which I have no problems doing, if I can help a fellow member.
Since that is not happening at the moment, I am still stuck and feeling helpless when it comes to assisting my members.
?
All I need and wish to know is, is this a possibility? Or does that member have to go in to the group site and make the changes themselves.
