Right. I deleted the copyright violating images during moderation before it posted. Then when it posted on the site everything is okay but in my email I have the X's I will see if I still have those emails and I could send them to you. ? Sometimes I don't express myself correctly these days. ? Leeni ? ? ? ?

You don't give us much to go on.

Having found your Home Page there would not seem to be a widespread problem given the number of messages posted this month and the stated time of the most recent one, so I am going to assume that the problem is limited to "you".

Are you trying to post by email or using the web UI? If the former then the most probable cause is that you are trying to post from the wrong email address. Please check your "sent items" box and see what the originating address was.

Are you able to access the web UI without difficulty; if you can what happens when you attempt to post from there?

I can certainly see no reason why you would want to start a new group; it would be like buying a new car because the windscreen washer bottle was empty.

For social reasons an automatic rejection notice is preferable.?? The "rejected" person will be less likely to feel judged by the human moderator, because the policy was implemented automatically.

Also, of course, it saves work for the moderator.

Okay, I somehow missed this part. You deleted the copyright-violating images during moderation, not after it already posted. Right?

In that case I have no explanation for it. I would have to receive a copy of the message to troubleshoot.

If you were to open the message and look at it in raw html, it should have something like <img src="http://mydomain.com/thisimage.jpg">. The reason your mail reader is rendering a box with an X in it is because there is no longer any image at the location

Please understand that these emails were sent before you deleted the source images. In response to the deletions, groups.io can fix the message in the message archive...but it cannot go out and edit something that already resides in a subscriber's mailbox.

We aren't talking about a red X We aren't talking about anything created using Letter Creator. ? We are talking about a plain email who had graphics inserted in their message using a gmail account whose original sender was on Moderation in groups IO. ? Then in groups IO,?I edited the?message?removing a couple of images that violated copyright. Then I approved the message and it was sent on to the group. ? On the homepage of the group in the message section everything looked fine. In my email that I received using a GMX email account I saw black X's where the photos used to be.? ? We are an email based group. We don't depend upon the group's site to snag these images because the names of the images come out as 0, 1, 2 ,3 etc instead of let's say DogWithAHat, BunnyWithEggs or the original name that the person who made the tag up gave the image. So that is why I was asking why I saw the X in my email. ? It wasn't anything the poster did. It was me in the edit process. ? ? ? ?

In Incredimail when ever you see the red x's that usually means that who ever sent it originally such as when they created the letter using Letter creator and put it together adding it to Incredimail. If they moved the location of the image/images that were on the original letter then Incredimail wouldn't know where to locate it if they moved the individual parts to a different folder/location on their computer.

This is not an available feature.

My organization wants only officers and committee chairs to post to an "announcement only" list, so it would be helpful to add text which explains this policy.

We don't want to use the "Announcement only Group" feature built into groups.io, because that would require all officers and committee chairs to be set up as Moderators, which is complicated and error-prone. By just setting all users to "Override: May not post" in one fell swoop, then adjusting the few authorized posters, the system is simple (or seems so to me).

I suggest you set the group to Moderated instead of Announcement, and set anyone who is allowed to post to "Override: Not Moderated." Then if anyone sends a post who is not authorized to do, it will be held up in moderation and you can reply with a custom rejection notice.

There's no way to automate this response, and the home page text ("Group Settings") will be a little misleading. But at least you'll accomplish what you want.

I am not familiar with Incredimail, but in usual web browser parlance those represent hyperlinks to missing images (a dead link).

From the group's site there isn't any X's. From the group's site it looks like they never existed. I wonder how my members are viewing those shares.

Probably the same thing you do...no images online, xed-out images in emails that were previously sent.

They do not go to spam.

It has been a long time since I tested it, but I think you may find them in your Sent folder, in a "conversation" with the original if you have conversation mode on.

That should have eliminated the Gmail behavior by replacing the Message-ID. But maybe the option only takes effect if Groups.io thinks Gmail is your service.

The next time you reply to group (or post a new topic) by email, monitor the Email Delivery History tab in your Subscription page. Specifically watch to see if the just posted message shows up under Most Recent Successful Delivery. If it does, then the message is in your service's hands. What support may be able to do for you is verify whether your messages had their Message-ID replaced, and if not maybe arrange to do that going forward.

I also note that some have reported that their service will actually reject ("bounce") messages from themselves which arrive from an outside server such as Groups.io. If that's the problem support may be able to help by adding your service to the ad-hoc list of those that need the DMARC modification of the From address.

I had to edit?email, removing images?that were shared in my group because they were in violation of copyright laws. I attempted to remove the inserted image that was placed in the body of the email and then also remove the attached image and then save and send the share through to the group. ? This used to work fine. It was a clean removal?up until today I noticed while checking the mail for that group?there were ??where the images were embedded/inserted in the body of the email and were removed. ? Previously there was no indication that anything was even in that space.? ? Is this a bug? Leeni ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Unless you're using gmail (or a gmail powered domain), you should get copies.? If it's one of those cases, you should be able to 'force' copies to you by selecting "I always want copies of my own emails" on your account preferences page, /account?page=prefs
