Yes, the price changed on Tuesday, October 22 2019 @ 9:00 am PDT.

Also, if I just pay for 1 month of premium and transfer,
You can't do a transfer by upgrading for one month, it has to be for a whole year.

Could be any of them catching it, but my money would be on TrendMicro.? I would expect any program putting up a notice like that to identify itself.

I don't think it takes very long for the notice to change to "We've received the invite..." and update.? Once that happens, you make [email protected] a moderator and continue the process.? If you keep sending invites after one has been accepted, I believe it drops you to the bottom of the list.? People have been reporting that it can take almost 2 days for an invitation to actually be sent by Yahoo, so I'd (try to) be more patient.

Locked Price doubled?

Hi-
I just went to pay the $110 to transfer my Yahoo group and see that the price has gone from $110 to $220? Is that true??

Also, if I just pay for 1 month of premium and transfer, will I still have access to my files and archives that transferred over as long as it doesn¡¯t take up more that the allotted amount of space for the Basic plan?

Please advise.
Thanks,
Twinkle

No, Groups.io will not become a member of the YahooGroup.

You invite [email protected] to become a member of the YahooGroup
when [email protected] accepts the invitation, you must promote [email protected] to become a Moderator of the YahooGroup

[email protected] does not forward YahooGroups emails to Groups.io members

Then when the transfer is done put everyone at Y!G group on moderation and /or no mail. Owner and moderators still get mail and deal with it. This should catch the stragglers and new applicants.
Yes, Owner and Moderators can reject / reply to posts sent to YahooGroup and remind them to use the new Groups.io posting email address

Subscribing by email failing for one user

Hi

I have one person who has tried emailing [email protected] and also doing an email reply to an?Invitation I have sent him who receives the following type of email reply.? It is particularly odd as it says he isn't a member of the group and "The following recipients did not receive this message:<[email protected]>" which isn't the email address he sent to. Other people have joined successfully. He is not confident of using the web forms to join so I would like to enable the email method.? Has anyone come across this or a possible solution?

suspicious link messge #post-transfer

Sheila Buff

Our transfer from Yahoo went very smoothly---many thanks to the people at groups.io.
One post-transfer issue has come up, in this message from a member:

I have a question/issue. When I click on a link in one of these messages, I get a warning about it being a suspicious link. I'm using Gmail, Chrome, Windows 10, and TrendMicro Maximum Security. I don't know where the issue lies. Any ideas how to get those warnings to stop? It only started after the migration so I'm guessing I need to whitelist something somewhere but have no idea what or how to do it.

I think she just needs to whitelist with her ISP. Will this solve her issue? Does she need to something else??

Re: Wrong "welcome" message being sent

Yep, I got rid of ¡°test¡± in the group name well before instigating the transfer. Even before upgrading to a premium account. And I can confirm that the correct name is showing up on the transfer page (¡°awaiting transfer¡±).
?
Now that I know where that welcome message is stored, I¡¯ve edited the heck out of it (and made sure all the links have the correct URLs). Not a bad interface!
?
Thanks so much for your detailed reply.

If you changed the name at Step 1 of the transfer process, you should be fine. If you changed it at Step 4, I can't imagine any good coming from that.

There are several adverse impacts to renaming a group. See?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Renaming-a-Group

Go to Admin>Settings>Member Notices and edit it. But if I were you, I'd immediately be going to the transfer status page to see if the group names listed remain correct -- and if not, what you can do to fix it. You can fix the welcome message anytime, but you don't want your transfer to hang.

Good luck,

Re: Can not get transfer request to show up in the "In Process" list

Hi Duane,
Not that it matters much except for the why.... If it does update the box when it accepts the invite, then it looks like there was a hiccup because transfer@groups was a member of my yahoo group but my box has never updated.

I have deleted the transfer@... and re-set an invite. Maybe this time it will go though smoothly?
I have not seen the email, but basically I guessing give it 30 minutes or so, and keep repeating step 10 (the invite) till I get the email or that box "Existing Transfers" is updated and I see the request. Do I have to get the email and the box updated before the next step? I am a little concerned because it looks like I am now stuck here, invite sent, waited ~30 minutes, second invite but still no response (email or Existing Transfers updating). Should I wait longer than 30 minutes after the invite from yahoo is sent?

Thanks again for your support!

Darci

You don't have to do it.? You should consider it if you're using the same email address as owner of the group here that you used on the YG.? To some, the join date is a status symbol.? One reason for (temporarily) making another email address you have the owner here is to preserve all of your "linkage" on the group being transferred - files, photos, etc.? Your account information wouldn't be copied from YG if it already exists here.? Hope this is more clear than it sounds. ;>)

Re: Notice of Pricing Change

I agree we all should give our full support. If funding is needed we can start a gofundme solicitation. Any venture capitalist should be avoided since the would start calling the shots and his hands would get tied up.
Those who complain about the pricing, should stop and think for a moment.
As someone said, there is always the door...

Why remove primary email address from group before transfer #yahoo #transfer

Gareth Jenkins

I'm looking at the checklist for transferring from Yahoo in the wiki and there is a stage that says "Maybe remove your primary email address from your group@ (preserve your Join date)".? I'm struggling to understand this - can anyone help?? I have set up a groups.io group to transfer a Yahoo group, with me as the owner.
  • If I remove my email address from the group how can I log in to manage the transfer?
  • Is the idea that I use an alternative email address as the owner address?
  • Is there a problem in that if the address I used for setting up the groups.io group is also in the Yahoo list it will lose its owner status after the transfer?
  • Is there a reason why I would want to preserve my join date?

Any help much appreciated.
