Is there any way to recover and re-initiate an abandoned Yahoo Group?
As I understand it, Yahoo groups can be set to Unmoderated, Moderated, or Moderated For New Users until they establish their trustworthyness.
The Group Eudora.win is a public group with 253 members founded July 3, 2001. It contains a wealth of historical information about the vintage Eudora email client that many still use.
Unfortunately the Moderator has disappeared and for a year or more now very few are able to post - only those who for whatever reason were not on moderation.
Is there any way for Yahoo to review the status of the Group, see it's value to the Eudora community, and attempt to in some way light it up again. Perhaps Yahoo could attempt to contact the Moderator and if he/she appears to be deceased then pass the task on to another person? I don't see how the current Moderator would possibly object to a process like that. The body of knowledge held by the 253 members is too valuable to loose access to.
Alternatively, is there any way for a user (not the moderator) to copy everything over to a new groups.io account?
Sincerely,
-Harry
