There's no practical difference between posting by email or through
the web interface except some users have difficulty with the web
interface while they have no difficulty at all using email only to
post and read messages.
Either way they are using the GIO platform and it was set up
intentionally to be easy to use email to post/read messages with the
option to post/read using the web interface.
I don't see how you can force someone to not use one of the two
methods GIO was set up to allow posts from, and as far as I know you
can't force someone to read the messages using the web interface.
