Hello,

I run a couple of groups for baseball leagues, using APBA's Baseball for Windows. When people attach files, apparently some (though not all?) are getting renamed in a way that makes the software not recognize them as BBW files. The file names are in the format "C-[name].LPF" and "F-[name].LPF". The problem appears to be that the dash after the C or F is getting turned into an underscore ("_"), and this causes the software to ignore that when I try to load Commissioner or Franchise files. If I catch it when I save the attached files, I can rename them to the right format, but if I don't, I may think that someone has failed to send me a file at all. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks,
Mike

Finally, we come?to something more directly related to your issue. This message is being posted using the web UI. The online File upload UI does convert the hyphen to an underscore, but only in the UI. The file is saved with the correct hyphen character in it. At least it did when I first tried this as a test. This graphic file showing the behavior in a previous test should be named?Hyphen-Test.jpg.
Mike,

On further review,?it seems that I have reproduced what you have noticed. It has been pointed out to me that this time, the file shows up in the GMF group with the hyphen changed to an underscore. I don't get emails from this group, so I don't know how the filename appears in an email client.

So, I have to agree that it sometimes does change the character from a hyphen to an underscore, although I don't know why the same jpg file worked OK in another group and not in this case.
