This is a new one on me.
"Email marked as spam" cancels your subscription to a group. It does not delete your account. So I'm wondering if we're talking about the same thing. If his account actually did disappear, my guess is he may have tried to do an account merge or deletion and swapped the email addresses. IT professionals make mistakes, too.?
