Re: Warning: please hold off on updating to ASCOM Platform 7

?
Seems to be fixed now with the service pack 1 release.?

Hi Trevor,
?
This being 2024 and the current production release of the Gemini 2 firmware being L6.02 with PIC servo code v3.0 and HC 1.61 you should probably update as? soon as possible.? Many issues were resolved in the current release and there are later versions being developed to fine tune mostly cosmetic issues.? Click on this link to go to the right file location to download the current releases of the Gemini 2 firmware: Gemini 2 production firmware? Get updated then retest.? ?

Thanks, but you're still missing one important piece of information -- the Gemini firmware level. Can you go to Menu->HC->Info screen on the Gemini hand controller and take a photo and post it here? Or just copy the information and post it here.?

Could you be more specific and give an actual number? Gemini 1 or 2? And what level of firmware?

I've asked the ASCOM Platform team for help. For now, I'd recommend that you remain on Platform 6 and don't upgrade to Platform 7 until this is resolved.?

That makes a difference :) What version of Gemini firmware are you running?

Re: Servo motor optical encoder replacement

I received the new encoder this morning. It's now installed and the motors are working perfectly again. It took less than ten minutes.
For the concerned folk, no sparks, fires, or smoke have been observed from either the Gemini or the motors. So far ;)
Thanks to David Partridge for his help in procuring the replacement.
Clear skies.

100% correct!? Every mount and telescope / rig configuration is different and using other people's limits cannot work reliably.? It is very easy to set your individual mount limits using the Menu>Mount>Limits>Set Limit Here option? button.?
?
The Losmandy Gemini 2? mounts are very flexible and they come in many different configurations, nearly as many as there are telescopes and imaging rigs. OK maybe not that many, even so everyone needs to set their own lits to ensure proper operation.?

Re: Threads problem

Yeh, when I look at it these are definitely the Gemini servo cover standoffs because the #492 standoffs are a lot longer in length.? But they all use the same 6-32 thread though.? ? ? ??
