I went the DIY route several years ago with a $15 heavy duty Craftsman tool box loaded up with a 28ah AGM battery, a smart charger that allowed the battery to supply power while plugged into utility

Depends on what power bank you get. I got a bluetti type a while ago to deal with frequent power outages at home and have yet to try it with my mount. Those types come with AC outlets, 12V car lighter

Oh one thing. I ment that you may need to lower data out rate to 4800 bps as most are 9600bps. Usually easiest to do this with USB or USB/Rs242 converter and terminal program like terraterm. There

Hi Brendan Thanks for the info. The GPS is a Globalsat BR305. By examining the USB adapter it came with, I managed to determine which pin on the PS2 connector is +5v. Strangely(I thought) there is -5v

I've miss connected Rx/Tx ...it shouldn't cause any problems.? But that was different chipsets!?? You can use the mini USB and import GPS data thru Gemini ASCOM...FWIW Cheers -- Brendan
