A timeout at the end of the process, after Gemini is rebooted, is not a problem. It's just that it takes too long for GFU to detect that Gemini completed the reboot, which could be a network problem,

You could try this to update the HC without using the GFU (just in case something is wonky with the GFU utility).? You will need to copy the V1.64 gemhc.bin file directly to the HCFirmware folder on

1. As Ryan suggested, restart Gemini. 2. Make sure the HC is plugged into the correct slot. 3. Try doing the update to HC firmware again (select HC and Flash Firmware in GFU). Wait until it says it's

Did you power the mount off and on with the switch after the firmware update was complete? When you power cycle the mount for the first time after the firmware update is when the Gemini pushes the HC

PEC is stored on Gemini SD card in PEC folder in the CurrPEC.pec file, so it will not be erased by firmware update.

Chuck, To be computer free you will need to use the traditional optical polar scope to PA.? You cannot use the NEXUS DSC for polar alignment. But not to worry there will always be a Losmandy polar
