Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, reticle polar alignment has gone the way of the buggy whip. It seems Kenko has quit making their reticle and after 2030 it's a computer or nothing. So the DSC with 3 star alignment is a computer free way to go. I'm seriously thinking of upgrading my 2005 g11 to DSC with digital circles.

Chuck,

To be computer free you will need to use the traditional optical polar scope to PA.? You cannot use the NEXUS DSC for polar alignment.??
?
But not to worry there will always be a Losmandy polar scope available new or used.? The fact that the reticle will eventually not be perfectly calibrated is not really an issue, I have used the original reticle for years before letting it go with a GM8s I sold.? You just need to approximate the progression a little on the reticle, it still works very well for visual work.?
?
I have the 311,000K tic encoders on an original GM8s and a two year old GM8G.? Both work great as visual mounts with the NEXUS DSC and can carry most of the scopes I have owned other than the C14.? I had the 311,000K encoders on the G11G but the G11G has become the imaging mount so I uninstalled them.?
