Re: Buttons
Hi, Well looks like I was misunderstood again :-) I do not want that the screen rotates. I already have an iPod Touch and an iPad and those are enough rotating screens :-) I am talking about the

Re: Buttons
Hi Rainer The buttons reversal are done. On the original Gemini hand controller you had a function to be able to reverse the RA buttons, and a separate function to Reverse the Dec buttons. On the

Hi, OK, I do not have a Gemini II but my impression is that we are making this button issue too complicated. Let us think KISS. Let us sir behind the mount and observe the telescope on the RA and DEC

Re: Future Hand controller code
PS The schematic for the Joystick is correct. When the push button is pushed, it acts as if you pushed the opposite button while keeping the current direction button engaged, on a 4 button controller.

Re: Future Hand controller code
Hi Bill and Frank You could also build a joystick something like what Rainer did. See message 22593 in the Gemini user group. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Gemini_Users/message/22593 Tom HIlton

Hi Bill and Frank Also remember that the old 4 button controller(no LED readouts) that was originally supplied with the early Gemini units also works with the Gemini 2. It is still available from

Re: Future Hand controller code
How is this handled in professional telescopes? I wouldn't know. :O) Maybe they use joysticks which have 2 or more positions in any direction. Push it once to the right for Guide speed, farther to the

Re: Future Hand controller code
Hi Bill and Frank. On the graphics controller, in the lower left corner is a speed button. It takes you to Guide, Center, Move to slew. all of these speed are programmable by the user. The tactile

Re: Future Hand controller code
Yes, one of the few "annoyances", as it were, is having to press the alternate button to speed up movement. Otherwise, I mainly use one hand. I can't envision a software solution other than possibly

Hi Bill, Just too lazy :-) Just kidding. Have you done it for a longer time ? If yes, then tell me how your left hand feels after a while ?? The cable does inhibit the free movement of your fingers

Re: Future Hand controller code
So, why not just rotate the hand-controller as you hold it? For example, with the cable extending off to your left. You can then reverse the directions of either buttons to suit. Bill
