Sorry, I just assumed with your observatory and splendid setup, that you were automated. :^)
I can not really say that I have had the issue you described with the G-11 when I had it.

For me that is a forgotten thing or something else that Gemini does not remember to which object it slewed when one wants to make an immediate ccentering of the object and an additional align without having to do a new GoTo to the object in question ...

I just let CCDAutoPilot Plate solve after the flip, using Pinpoint and The Sky 6 Pro, it then is right on targer. But, I never really have any issue after a flip finding a star or object.
