Well since its a electret condenser like in most mics, i would say that might be the range of voltage on it.maybe the minimum?

regular electret condenser replacements? have a range of 1.5 -10 VDC listed on specs on rated voltage. im thinking urs is also rated voltage.
I would solder it in and give it an audio test put a scope on it and feed a range of audio signals to it to give a response pattern.

Then you will know how it will preform, but to really find out, put the g-106 on the air contacting someone that can reliably copy you. if not, use a spare receiver with the rf gain turned down.Anyway, i would just solder it in , It should work ok,. IM
