I have secondary hypo and have been following Budwig protocol for over 15 years and it hasn't made any difference to the degree of hypo, I also eat strawberries and cabbage. Your mileage may vary.

I have Hashimotos with marginally elevated TSH. I am getting ultrasounds done every two months due to thyroid cancer and have had no problem with the flaxseed or oil.
