So I just found out that flaxseed is high in goitrogens and not recommended if diagnosed with hypothyroidism.?
Does anyone know if toasting the seeds removes goitrogens, and would we still have the positive effects of the seeds??
Is the flax oil alone free from goitrogens?? The max dosage recommendation for someone with hypothyroid is 2 tbsp of flaxseed. Not sure how to get the daily 5 tbsp of flaxseed in without causing more harm to my thyroid or is it worth the risk?
