Ms Reinhardt-Martin
This still leaves unanswered, the question of "how much" flax meal would provide substantial cardiovascular and other health benefits for the average consumer.
If I'm consuming a large amount of om6 in my diet, the quantity of om3 becomes more important.? If I avoid diets that greatly predominate in om6 over om3, I needn't consume so much of the om3 rich foods.

Flaxseed meal has very little fat(12-15%) left after processing,so you will obtain very little omega-3 fatty acids. The fiber and lignans are intact, so you?are still getting some benefits. I advise people not to purchase flaxseed meal, only because the omega-3's are missing, and it can be expensive. Hope this helps.

What benefits, if any, can be derived from flax seed meal, 3 tbsps. per day,
mixed in water, juice, cereal (soy milk), etc. Thanks for any information.

Re: FO in the eyes- infection?

melanie

I was about to suggest to Marie to put some colloidal silver in her eye to
get rid of the infection, because I've seen that work for many things, too,
but I was not about to tell her to put anything else into her very sensitive
eyes! I am still in shock over that oil causing her the problem, and I'm
like you, I think she must have contaminated herself one way or another from
not using sterile objects in the first place. WHO KNOWS? I am to blame,
because I should have offered to do it for her. Live and learn!

I'm NOT trying to scare anyone off from trying it, I'm just warning what
could possibly happen. I hope I never see or hear of anyone getting an
infection from it again.

Subject: [FlaxSeedOil2] FO in the eyes- infection?

After reading a few posts about some getting what may appear to be
infection after dropping FO into the eyes, I have a few questions:
1)was the eye dropper bottle sterile?
2)if it was a used bottle, what was in it? Some essential oils leave a
noticable residue even after rinsing throughly. This could be a source of
irritation.

My mother will be trying the FO in the eyes soon for cataracts. Based on
what I've see here, I will mix a small amount of colloidal silver in the
oil, although it may not mix well. Please don't post warning me about the
dangers of colloidal silver (properly made that is) used in the eyes. It
is
pure hogwash. Your eyes won't turn blue, and it does work well for eye
infections. I now make my own CS with a system from
. The amount I will use is just enough to kill
any pathogen that "may" be in the oil.

VERY wise you are..and please let us know the results. When Cliff gets back home, he is no doubt going to be reading these same post. I have an idea he will be telling us the same thing about sterilizing and having clean everything. Essential oils can be very dangerous if not handles also properly..there is usually warnings on labels. Take heed to everything we put on, in, or around the body. Things will also absorb into the flesh very easily through pours of the skin. TRY a dab of this on the flesh before every using it as prescribed. If by chance it begins to itch, or burn, or fester than wash it off and never use it.
?
Now I've been using the flaxseed oil in my eyes have had no problems so far.And I have noticed some change in my eyesight. Last time I was checked for glasses was two and half years ago..but I have tri-focal and they are great for my kind of work. But the doctor said even then my eyes had gotten better..I had had a lazy like eye. I was at this time using flaxseed oil in the eyes. Not everyday, but whenever the eyes begin to get tired or the sinuses begin to bother me. But I learned to put it in the eyes just before going to bed, this way the eyes could rest and be healing at the same time. Never once did I notice anything wrongly. I would take the bottle from the refrigerator and carefully fill the eye-dropper, which I buy at a drug store for around 25 cents. I would first boil some water, and poor it into the bottle and immediately dump it out, turning it over on a sterilized gauze. I always wanted to be SAFE as possible.

Keep in mind, that it would be difficult to find an oil that gets rancid more quickly than flax oil.? I wouldn't put a single drop of rancid oil in my mouth, let alone my eyes.? Some researchers think that it's almost impossible to keep flax oil fresh, and are suspicious of the freshness of the flax oil found in health food store refrigerators, even before the opaque bottles are opened.

She should have poured the oil?into an eye dropper bottle and left this settle before using. The lignans is what causes the grittiness like sand in the eyes. I've learned to let the new bottle settle and using an eye-dropper only take what is on the top to fill the eye-dropper bottle. I've never have had any problems this way. Chances are her cataracts fell off leaving a stinging, and the matting was from the fluids still healing in the eye. With a little warm water on a cloth laid over her eyelids I have an idea her eye would have healed up..She no doubt didn't have anything sterilized ( all instruments must be sterilized before using in the eye. And if by chance she picked up germs from unwashed hands. I do not believe it was the flaxseed oil that caused the infection..but the methods she was using. She needed to have someone else do this for her.And if right after putting the 1-drop ( not a lot into the eye ) she should have laid down and kept the eyes closed. I bet she rubbed the eyes that became irritated as the flaxseed was first applied..she probably felt a grit ( like sand ) and begin to rub..this alone caused irritation, then if her hands or hanky was soiled she caused more problems. THANKS, Dave for sharing this. It's like Marie's husband told me, each person's body is different and what works for one, may harm the other, and the sad thing is, we don't know till we try it! I'm glad that this that happened with Marie, is not an isolated case. How did you get over your eye infection? May I ask?
THANKS,

Hi Melanie and all,
?
I was debating whether to post this earlier, but now that I see Melanie's post,
thought I would share that I also ended up with an eye infection after putting the
flax oil in my eyes.? I let a bottle of Barlean's high lignan sit in the refrigerator for
two days, then poured a little of it into an eye dropper bottle that had previously
had echinacea tincture in it and which I had carefully rinsed, trying to keep everything
as sterile as possible.? On the first night I put one drop in each eye.? In the morning
both eyes were swollen but I figured/hoped it was probably from something else.
So I put some in again on the following night.? The morning after I had a serious
eye infection.??That was the end of the flax oil in the eyes experimentation for me.

Strangely, my wife also put the oil in her eyes the same two times that I did, and

Hello all! I am so frustrated right now! Last Friday, I had a phone call from my elderly neighbor that I have mentioned before on this list. (She had put the oil in her eyes one time and said it felt like it peeled something off and it hurt.) Well, then last week, she tried it again, and put it in her eyes right before she went to bed. She said that her one eye hurt so bad after she put it in that she couldn't sleep hardly at all that night. Then, she woke up and her eye was completely matted shut! And it was full of infection! She went to a local dr and he referred her to one in a town 45 miles away, it was that bad!!!!!! I went and saw her Friday night and I just cried and cried! I still am hurting because I caused her so much pain! She has told eveyone that she sees what I have done to her, and she knows I feel badly, but I AM responsible for what happened to her.? Her eye looked TERRIBLE! I have seen other people do this, right here in my town, and NEVER did I imagine that it would hurt anyone like it did to her! I am very fortunate that she is not going to sue me! If it was anyone else, I'm sure I'd be hearing from their lawyer right now! Her eye dr asked her if she was from Oklahoma, and she said no, why? He said that when he was practicing there, he would actually have to did the flax seeds out of people's eyes there! That's pretty wierd, I thought!
? I'm DEFINATELY NOT blaming anyone here on this list, I just want to let you all learn from my experience, what can happen! I would like to know why this happened to her.
? So, whenever you have someone try something,? BE CAREFUL! I know this stuff has helped way more people than it has hurt, but that's just how it goes for me! I was so confident that it would do her some good! But, that sure back-fired!
? I told Marie that I would pray that her eye will be better than ever after this infection is gone, can anyone join me in that prayer? I thank you all so much!

Dear Mike..
?I wonder what the first signs are? And if cats can also?get this. Which it might be harmful to all animals around the farm and in the house or just running?in the yards. Can animals pass anything like this onto humans?
?
Also talking about a cat..Our friends over the weekend had to take STINKY to the vet Saturday. She was vomiting, and not at all feeling well. They also found on her neck some tiny like raised lumps. Upon the examination,? she had only a couple fleas. The vet said he felt that the fleas were biting her flesh is??where the lumps came from, and this got into her bloodstream, causing her nausea. Then Sunday? she was again not feeling very?well and was vomiting what looked like just water. Giving it some thought we think that maybe the chlorinated water makes her ill. So they boiled some water. In hopes this will help until they can buy her some mineral water. I had taken along my flaxseed oil and some C/silver and added this to her water. She drank it and then most of the morning she went off to sleep. But again upon waking she got a little sick. This is when we think that the water has a lot to do with it. They have just moved here, so chances are she is not adjusted to this water. WE now wonder if they should have weaned her from the old water gradually into the new? But how would a person do that?

Hello I got my tumors to shrink . I had lung and liver cancer. One thing that reversed my laack of appitite and started me back to health was yerba mate' 3 tablespoons steeped in 1 pint of hot water then blended in a blender while it is still warm then strained and sipped ?through the day helped with stress and gave me more energy. It took about 2-3 weeks for my appitite to come back but I felt better within 2-3 days after ?starting yerba mate. You can see how wonderful this stuff is by going to ?www.healthfree.com and click on to wisdom of the ancients section on teas.Another great thing that helped me a lot was immune support from www.ayurveda-herbs.com. I have lots more info if you want. Larry

Dear Larry,

I'd greatly appreciate as much info (about herbs helping to
fight cancer), as you possibly are able to give to me.
THANKS!

you do have my permission .? also, another gentlemen that had lung cancer
really bad, is doing really well.? his wife came to me about 6 months ago,

who took my advice seriously.

a lot of people just don't want to believe about the oil, and it's so hard
to get them to take the oil, even when they are close to death.

keep up your good work with passing on the flaxoil messages, and i'll do my

?
It's OK to split up the dosage up to 3 or 4 times a day, but the oil and the cottage cheese have to be thoroughly mixed each time.? This is important.

Hi,
It is my understanding she can split up the F/O & CC each day as long as she gets the amount she needs. Maybe split it up to 3 or 4 times in a day. It takes more yogurt per tsp than CC. Good Luck!Leird

Your grandmother should eat the fo/cc throughout the day - not in one sitting.? Mildred

I don't know what's in the formula as it is proprietory. The only med he's on is Vicodyn for pain. Any additional supplements must be cleared through Genesis.
For supplements he's taking FO/CC, Ellagic Acid, enzymes (broccozyme and kamozyme from Dr. Wolfe). He's not on any intense vitamin regimen. His diet consists of mostly vegetable, little fruit, fish. This is obviously acquired anemia in my view. His cancer was quite advanced, although he's in relatively good health aside from the anemia and pain from the tumor. It is my opinion he needs to rapidly alkalize himself for one thing, and the anemia....there is controversy in this.
