I will give PP a try as well after my last Barleans bottle runs out - their prices looked very good and I was surprised it¡¯s also organic.

Budwig and other protocols

It seems that the Budwig/Focc is conservative in the sense that you can not deviate from it too much.? I am following it as closely as possible with exception of the sauerkraut juice (I was looking into an alternative to that)? That being said, I take certain medications and some supplements (possibly unnecessarily as they may not do much) and have been concerned they may interfere with results.? I read somewhere in the bio Budwig that they had a clinic in Sweden (?)? ?where there was a 90% cure rate, and it seems the least offensive of all the protocols, up to and including "standard of torture" (oops I meant care) protocols, fasting for 45 days, using drugs off use (getting a dr to prescribe in the us is impossible) IVC (expense) etc.

But with Budwig, has anyone successfully integrated other techniques on occasion?? There was a man named Guy Hoffman (from Dr. Berg fame) who fasted for 45 days and cured his prostate cancer,? but later I found out that he had testosterone/adt? therapy (chemical castration)? so to me that negates his success, and I have seen this with other protocols on mixing and matching with standard of care,? is Budwig one of the few that could be classified as "stand alone"?

I¡¯m sure I¡¯ll receive some criticism, but I¡¯ve used whole food brand, which checks off all those boxes at a much better price for over 8 years now. I¡¯m a cancer survivor and use Budwig for overall health and preventative maintenance. I can¡¯t afford Barleans brand as it¡¯s very expensive by measure. Before I started Budwig and besides the cancer, I was also diagnosed with NASH and my liver enzymes were off the chart. A year or so on Budwig and my liver numbers normalized and today well below high range. Just had a heart scan and it came back zero plaque or blockage of any kind. This is all due to the Budwig protocol using the brand I said at the beginning. Hope this helps some.
Thanks that's impressive. Did not know it helped liver enzymes and keeps arteries clean..as well as cancer

Re: When Barleans not around minimum alternative?

I figured as much. They must have had an issue that took some time to sort out because they didn't have oil for quite a while. To their credit they refunded me entirely.

Joe, I have a question. I see Puritan's has oil again as you indicated. How is the flavor? When they stopped carrying it a while back it was right after I got a batch that tasted terrible. I thought it was rancid, but they said it was because the seeds weren't "de-bittered" prior to pressing. Regardless, they refunded me as I could not use it.

I've used both of them depending on availability. Puritan pricing is better. But last year they had a dry spell due to a problem with their supply chain. I haven't had a problem with them so far in 2024.

Quality is good with both companies in my view and both offer huge savings compared to Barlean's.

It is still nearly double what you can get PP for on sale, Joe. Nothing against Barleans, but they are just another brand name in a large pool of flax oil options.
