Re: Coughin

You¡¯re very welcome, Julie. You know, when the cough starts with a tickle in the throat (especially in this season), it may well be an allergy. You are doing many good things to raise her immune system, and sometimes the immune system goes into overdrive. I¡¯m saying this as an allergic asthma patient who always gets this nasty tickle in the throat, especially at spring time. It¡¯s not dangerous, but very annoying and unpleasant, of course. I usually get rid of it by taking Siberian ginseng (a.k.a. Eleuthero) in the morning for about a week. It calms down the immune system and brings it back into balance.?
I hope it¡¯s the same reason behind your mom¡¯s cough. It¡¯s extremely common at this time of year.?

God bless,
- Ivanka?

Yes, I was secretly hoping that it was a "detox" or the cancer on her pleural lining was dying causing her that frequent dry cough to expel any dead particle. I have elderberry cough drops at the house? but I have been giving her throat calm tea. She claims that the cough was more like a tickle when she talks, she tends to cough.
Yes, her appetite is better and I am hoping that eventually she will be able to eat a bit more each meal.
I am just very sadden to see her being this skinny.

Thank you again for your kind words and I will definitely look at the site to check out the mushroom elderberry.

While she is now very thin (barely 115lbs) her pulmonary doctor also remarked that she kept her weight steady. Which is encouraging.

I believe the protocol is taking hold and remain optimistic.? Along with her Chi Kong exercise, it helps to improve her lungs. She is now eating about 4 TBsp of FOCC (2TB oil) twice a day now.

But I noticed she is sounding raspy and coughing more (it's a dry cough). I am wondering if the apoptosis is causing the dry cough?? she did not cough much in the prior months but it is more frequent nowadays.

Any input/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Thank you. I have been giving her herbal tea (throat calm with licorice and slippery elm).

Re: Budwig Diet - Supplements or no Supplements.

Many thanks Rod. I will mostly stick to plant-based milks (Almond, split pea, coconut, etc.) but, as you say, a little in tea/coffee a couple of times a day should not do much harm. Best regards, Malcolm

Hi Ashley,
I have diffuse large B-cell NH lymphoma. It is a fast and aggressive form, and I have outlived my expiration date by 9 years. Budwig was the first diet change I made, and I also used a Chinese herb called Oncolyn after my surgery to remove the initial tumor. I believe follicular lymphoma is a slower growing type, but they are all related, and Budwig will surely help to keep your body able to heal and regenerate well. All blessings to you ??

Re: Budwig Diet - Supplements or no Supplements.

Not Doebucky, but I will add my two cents on this subject. Let's look at this locically. The cottage cheese is made with milk and we are supposed to add milk to get the desired consistency. Some even argue that it is required to add milk to the FO/CC for some mysterious "hydrogen bridge" which I know from personal experience is not the case. A tablespoon of milk in your coffee or tea is not going to kill you.

Hi Doebucky.

Thank you so much for your helpful reply. Sorry for the delay but I only just became aware of it, not getting any notifications elsewhere as we often do these days. I am so glad about your success and will follow the original advice now and give up those extra (expensive) Beta supplements.? If they are so effective, they will have done considerable good in the past fortnight anyway, and I can also go back to my normal sleep-helping tablets I had to avoid. I can always return to them if needed.
May I please ask you another very minor question? Do you still use any cow's milk in your diet? As recommended, I have given up sugar (using Xylitol) and all dairy foods (I greatly miss my yogurt, cream, butter, cakes, biscuits, trifles, custards, etc.) but like milk in my tea and coffee, rather than plant-based. In one BP recipe I read or watched (using the CC/FO combination) I recall a suggestion to add more milk to thin it down if too thick? That makes me think a little daily milk is acceptable. It is hard to know how strict to be. Thank you.
Best wishes, Malcolm

Re: Corn and tofu

My apologies. I meant no soy or corn for my mom. I have been adding flaxseeds to her FOCC twice a day.

Appreciate the detail explanation on soy avoidance.

You said you have not been giving your mom ¡®either¡¯, meaning no flax seeds? Flax seeds are a huge part of the diet. There are many many women with estrogen positive cancers who do well with having flax seeds. Tofu is a big no no, not only because it¡¯s usually GMO, but also because it interferes with hormones and is a widely recognized cancer-causing food. Any kind of soy product - tofu, soy milk, soy bean snacks or whatever- is strictly forbidden, unless it¡¯s fermented. Keep in mind soy is hidden in many, many foods, almost everything at the grocery store contains soy lecithin as emulsifier. Always read the ingredients.?
Corn can be problem not only because of GMO, but also because it¡¯s very high in sugar. And also difficult to digest, causing bloating and gas. Perhaps that¡¯s why it¡¯s a concern.?

she prefers Asian food so tofu would be a wonderful change.

Shalom Janice,
