Re: Budwig Diet - Supplements or no Supplements.

Hi Ashley,
I have diffuse large B-cell NH lymphoma. It is a fast and aggressive form, and I have outlived my expiration date by 9 years. Budwig was the first diet change I made, and I also used a Chinese herb called Oncolyn after my surgery to remove the initial tumor. I believe follicular lymphoma is a slower growing type, but they are all related, and Budwig will surely help to keep your body able to heal and regenerate well. All blessings to you ??

?Mary Grace, I hope you don't mind me asking, what kind of lymphoma you had. And if you battled it from the start with the budwig diet.

I am dealing with follicular lymphoma.

Thank you!

Ashley~

You wrote "D3 2000mg" that meanest?3 GRAMS (a lot).??
Perhaps you mean 2,000 international units (iu) ?

Do you take Curcumin powder, perhaps in capsules?
I believe?that it would be much more effective to take GOLDEN PASTE that you can make yourself from Turmeric powder,?water, good quality oil, and freshly ground black pepper.??
I can send you instructions, if you wish.
warmly,
Rahel

Dear Malcolm,
I don¡¯t post often, I am 12 years out from a terminal prognosis of lymphoma. I find that the fewer supplements the better, as this protocol is so nutrient dense! I do take D3 2000mg daily as well as a elderberry and zinc chewable. That¡¯s it and my recent blood work show I am doing so well on all markers. Don¡¯t get overwhelmed, just eat right, get some sun and Vita D3 if needed, and reduce stress. Pray if you are so inclined with gratitude ?? Sending blessings your way.

? Malcolm,

I can only?say?what I have done to fight stage 4 Cervical cancer. I took Dr. Budwig¡¯s caution about supplements seriously and stay away from them. I take?only Vitamin D3, Zinc,?calcium, and?Curcumin.? Not only does she state some may interfere with the protocol, but my understanding is that most supplements are not regulated so I wonder can we really trust their contents?

I firmly believe the healthy diet we follow with Budwig boosts our immune system as needed.

Hello Again. I wonder if there is anyone who might please help with a dilemma I have? In Bill Henderson's book "Cancer-free...Healing", he covers the importance of your immune system needing to be "in cancer-fighting shape". As such, he strongly recommends certain supplements being as "essential" for that. On that basis, I bought 60 - 500mg Beta-1,3D Glucan tablets (he says are far superior to other makes) and I started taking the recommended 3 tablets/day (for my 150 pounds weight) 30 mins before eating breakfast. That will cost about ?105/mth (US$140) until I reduce. Not cheap, along with all the other increased costs. Have just ordered more, not to run out, so will probably continue until my next PSA test in 3 months.

Yet, in File No. 5, it states "Dr. Budwig did not include drugs or supplements in her protocol guidelines. In her 1999 book, she spoke against them. She warned that high amounts of man-made supplemental antioxidants can interfere with the diet's benefits - and a note there to ask this group? Any other's thoughts on this is appreciated but I realise it can probably only come down to making a personal decision myself. The cost is secondary at this stage, one problem being I cannot take Ibuprofen or Tylenol with them (so my sleep suffers with other pains) and being SO big, struggling to swallow. I think I also need large Vitamin D3 doses (and K2 because of that) but would struggle with the initial 25.000 I.U. (then 10,000 later) that he recommends. I might half that. I don't know Dr Budwigs views on that yet and it is hard to know how much to deviate from the protocol. Any suggestions please?
