It is a never ending battle ...?
2 words ... Train Master !

the whole ¡°Baby¡± useage for the H15/14-44/66 engines drives me nuts ....

had a guy quit my FM Facebook page because I corrected him ....

Re: New H24-66 model

The Model Railroad has an announcement about the new Atlas H24-66.
Kalmbach publishes Model Railroader, and published the first several Diesel Spotters Guide (no; they weren¡¯t on papyrus).
The Diesel Spotters Guide got it right. ?
The announcement by MR refers to it as a Trainmaster. ?

I give up. ?

New H24-66 model

Just got an announcement from Toy Train Heaven that new Atlas H24-66 models will be coming out.?
Wide assortment of road names.

They call it a Trainmaster. ?

Good luck. ?Hope this works.?

If memory serves TVRM had a relationship with NMRA when the headquarters was there, so they might be used to, and receptive to, unusual requests. ?

Is that TVA power plant really rail isolated?? I thought it was served by CSX on an almost daily basis.

Re: Rare Fairbanks-Morse locomotive donated to Tennessee museum

Agreed !
Outstanding news ...

Yes ... please stop using the "baby TM" identification?

With the plant isolated from rail service, the locomotive languished at the plant until the TVA approached the museum about possible donation and preservation. Extensive planning has taken place to allow the locomotive to be moved by truck to Chattanooga.

Re: New Rapido H16s

In O scale , there have been brass H16-44 engines and also , a nice one by Lionel , which I have ...

all are Phase 1 , early engines ...

im sure a person with more talent than I could remove the single radiator fan and install a Train Master style cooling fan set up ... but , I¡¯m not that talented person ... hehehe?

in HO , I¡¯m not sure how much work would be needed to convert an Atlas H16-44 Phase 1 to a phase 2 similar to thecearly Virginian and Milwaukee Road engines ....

Re: New Rapido H16s

True ! O scalers did have Train Masters before HO modelers ...

Re: New Rapido H16s

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Okay, Dave; I¡¯ll bite. ?Didn¡¯t anybody ever do the H16 in O? ?
I guess we should make up a table of reasonable FM models, in various scales, and add comments as to degree of reasonableness. ?I¡¯ll get started on the HO.

And, let¡¯s be fair; if memory serves O scalers got an H24-66 sooner than we did in HO.

Trying to model the Virginian from McAlpin to Matoaka in HO
With plenty of FM power, along with the steam and electric. ?

New Rapido H16s

On the Virginian list and some of the others there¡¯s quite a bit of cautious excitement about the coming Rapido H16-44s. ?With any luck Rapido will be at the PM meet in St. Louis later this week, and may have some pilot models. ?There may be some real possibilities here. ?

Re: Virginian H16-44

>dprasse81
The Canadian Pacific ones were all made with the centered third fan.? But it seems you are correct, the ones made for Canadian National have the traditional three fans with the spot where a fourth would be, blanked off.? At least on the few pictures I could find.? Unfortunately I am more familiar with the CPR units than the CNR ones... although I do like the H12-64's the CNR had.

>Clark
Decent roof shots seem to be exceedingly difficult to locate.? Are you talking about the dynamic brake fan near the crew cab or the cooling fans at the end of the long hood?? Also, CLC or FM builds?

Re: Virginian H16-44

Anyone have any detail photos of the exhaust fans, especially the center-mounted fan...
Thanks, Clark Cone

I believe the CLC Built models are the only ones sporting that style of 3 fans , with the 3rd fan centered on the roof ...

I believe some of the clc h16-44 engines had the Beloit standard of 2 fans on the one side , and one fan on the opposite fan , like the Virginian is sporting ...
