Dear FT-857 lovers,
I've been looking for the INFO of 857 jumpers which is often referred as MARS mod.
My FT-857 seems modified as MARS and I'd like to mod it back to comply with JA regulation.

Re: FT-857D RF Power Mod
ZL1CVD OM,
TNX for your comment.
I found that the last page of 2018 doc says 2017 and so I misunderstood.
Now I have found the Technical Supplement of 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2018.
Thank you, all

FT-897D weird receive problem

The other night while on 2m, upon UN-keying, the radio went

Re: FT-857D RF Power Mod
If you can, always refer to the 2018 version. It has all revisions of PCBs used in this model and from memory there was some revised alignment ? Been a long long time since I serviced these for DSE so

Hullo Hiro,
These Service Menu settings are published under the headling "RF Power Adjustment."
My best guess as to how they work is:
024 - 039 are to calibrate, or set in some fashion,

Re: FT-857D RF Power Mod
Thanks to both Alex-san and Kent-san.
The exact "Yaesu FT-857D Technical Supplement - Page Alignment-10" is on the 2017 (not 2018?) version.
But the content seems the same as Page #20 of the 2003

Re: FT-857D RF Power Mod
Both worked for me although Brian's is a newer revision (2018 versus 2003).

Brian-san,
Thank for your info.
I¡¯m on a train commuting to my office and the access to the net seems jammed and the download is very slow.
I¡¯ll get it when I¡¯m home later.

Re: Won¡¯t turn on but relay clicks
If you are using the Yaesu original power cable, check the connector,
remove the connection and reconnect it firmly. At times the connector also
gave me problems.

Re: CAT Control and Amplifier use Simultaneously
The FT-857D has an undocumented CAT control set up through the microphone jack. If you check the manual for the Microphone jack setting in memory 59 you will find that the choices are NOR/RMT/CAT.

Re: Compact AC Power Supply for 857D?
I agree. I used to take my HPS1A with my 857 as carry-on luggage on
overseas trips. I don't know if they're still available.
