The 1st thing I would do is unplug the antenna. If it goes away, it's probably not your radio or a power issue coming in on the power cable.

If it doesn't go away, then I would kill the power to the house and start turning things on 1 breaker at a time. If the mouse is coming from your home, that will help you identify what it is.

Hope this helps.

Re: Missing Hidden Menu Items

When I first hook the 857 d up everything was working fine. Cat control frequency, everything at work for a couple 3 weeks and then one day all of a sudden nothing changed that I know of and it just stopped working and it hasn't worked since. That's why I'm trying to figure out what might have happened?

Re: Missing Hidden Menu Items

Hi Maurice,

when yoi do a reset, you then need to go into menu 1 and set it on so that all menus are available as the default is to have a reduced menu set available.

Not to replace your parents, but be careful about accessing the hidden
(technical) menus. They are hidden for a reason. No two radios have
the same hidden menu values. They are unique to your radio as it was
set-up at the factory before shipment. There is nothing in there you
need to change, anyway. Changing one value may affect another value
which may affect yet a third value, and so forth.
But it's your radio and your money.

Re: Missing Hidden Menu Items

Extended Menu's can be accessed by enabling Menu 001.

Hidden Menu's can be accessed by starting with the radio off; press and hold buttons A, B, and C at the same time and while pressing the power button.

Hope this helps,

WTB - FT-857 Control Head

The control head for my 857 was damaged in an accident, I am looking for a replacement if anyone has one (or a parts radio with a good head).? It is not the "D" model, not sure if that makes a difference for the head unit.

Thanks!

Hello Robert;
? ? ? That is a Great Idea.? I have a height Restriction where I live and Shop.? So I mount my Antenna (K-400) on the Left Side of the Downward Curve of the Front Hood.? I live in a Very Low Parking area, Antenna will hit the Top Half of the Whip of the ATAS-120a. and Shopping at the Mall with a Low Ceiling. So If I go to the Mall I must plan to remove the antenna before I go to the Mall. Remove antenna before going to park my Hummer at home.? Since I mounted to antenna on the front hood with the Diamond K-400 their is very little movement now and Swr of 1.2to1 across the operating FReq of ATAS-120a.

You could just eave it with a vertical post and attach the K400 to it.?
Good luck

Re: ATAS-120a install with K-400 Mount

Take a small strip of aluminum between the mount and your trunk to increase the thickness, that should stop the flex.?

Re: ATAS-120a install with K-400 Mount

Priority is to bind any horizontal surface to the chassis with briad that has a large surface area. You need to include the exhaust as well if it is an ICE powered vehicle.
