Re: Just got mine
开云体育I’ve had my FT 857D installed in my Subaru Outback for about five years; main unit? under the drivers’ seat and the remoted head in a cubby on the console. I’ve had no? real problems with the display or the radio, running mobile on HF, VHF or UHF. 73, Bob W7SCY |

Re: Just got mine
I have had an 897D for a while before I also got an 857D. Same radio in a smaller case (all menu items the same). Mine developed the "zebra stripes" on the display, but I got a brand-new display from Ham Radio Outlet. It is a great mobile radio! 73, Zack W9SZ On Thu, Dec 16, 2021 at 2:19 PM Joshua KJ7LVZ <joshuajayg@...> wrote: I acquired an FT-857D yesterday.? Got it plugged in last night and used it on 80M this morning.? I'm not intimidated by the menu; seems just fine to me (but all my HF radios are Yaesu.)? I did a factory reset, configured it for my uses, and plan to use it portable.? I'd like to use it mobile by I'm concerned about the screen failures people experience.? Anyway, I like it so far.? Receive isn't as good as my 891 or 991A but it works well enough.? I like that the DNR is not as aggressive as the newer DSP firmwares.?? 开云体育Hello ? Some power companies here do not preform Preventive Maintenance (PM) on the street transformers.? The result is noisy step changes which can cause brown outs.? Usually takes a few telephone calls to have it serviced. ? 73 Malcolm ZL2UDF ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Hank Lambert (KB4MTO)

The first that should be done with any issue with FT857 behaving oddly is to remove all cables from radio, leave it be for at least 30 minutes and then connect power and mic only and power it up. In many cases that alone helps. On 16.12.2021. 16:14, Tony VA7TF, VE7ACF wrote:
