?Thanks. I was considering the RT software (I have it for various other radios) so that seems to be the answer.?

?I can confirm that the RT systems Yaesu-specific cable will work, and is likely the best option.

A warning: generic cables, and cables for other radios, such as Kenwoods, with the mini-DIN connector may connect the 13.8V pin to ground, blowing the SMD fuse on the board and making it impossible to power a tuner or other accessory. ?I experienced this on both my 897 and 857. ?You can (sort of) get away with it on an 817/818 because they use a current limiting resistor instead of a fuse, but it's best to use a Yaesu-specific cable.
