WTB - Johnson Valiant (Preferably Valiant II)
I'm looking for a decent-condition Valiant or Valiant II to build my low-band AM station.? Back and side appearance not critical, but I would really prefer the front panel to look nice.? No scaly rust or extra holes, controls, etc.
Would prefer to have everything instact on the inside, no rust or scaly deposits on chassis or components.? I don't mind some repairs, as long as I don't have to do a complete restoration. I live in the St. Louis, MO area.? I would rather drive to pick it up rather than take my chances with the parcel carriers. If you have a decent-looking Valiant or Valiant II and are within a day's drive of St. Louis, please let me know what you have and what you are asking for it,? A pic or two showing the front panel, chassis top and chassis bottom would be really nice to have. Thanks! Mike Harmon, WB0LDJ mharmon at att dot net |
Re: MATCHBOX Interconnect: 6¡± to 12¡± Coaxial Cable Length
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI also use a Johnson Kilowatt Matchbox.I couldn¡¯t care less about the length of the interconnected cable. What might be ideal for one band or frequency will not be ideal on another. In any case the difference in the loading of the exciter will be miniscule. The length of the open wire transmission line to the antenna is of greater importance. 73,? Doug/WA1TUT? WTB: Invader 2000 close to Austin TX
Hi all
My deal for a good Invader 2000 fell through -- in case you're wondering, both the buyer and the seller are delighted, and that particular radio now has another fun story in its provenance -- so once again I'm looking for a good Invader 2000 that works and isn't all beat up. If you can deliver it to my QTH in north Austin, I'll pay gasoline and will buy you dinner at one of Austin's more well-known eateries. Reply in PM, please. Thanks and 73 Jim N6OTQ |
Re: WTB: JOHNSON RANGER 2 meter
Hi Mike,
I really appreciate the offer!!! I had a Ranger 2 scoped out and the only major thing wrong was the bad meter. It had the usual stuff needed like recapping, PTT mod etc but the iron appeared to be good and it was clean. I missed out on the purchase so will not need the meter.? You are very kind offering the meter and I really appreciate it. Tom N5AMA |
Re: Johnson Ranger II panel meter
Donald Hello ?? Ranger 1 panel meter and Ranger II panel meters are two totally different styles. I am open to all sorts of deals and negotiations.. ! I would be ok with a Ranger II parts unit as long as it had the panel meter... Thank You so much !!! Ashley W7DUZ Is it the same as the one used in the Ranger I? ?

If you contact me off-list and I see one, I can text you with a picture and get approval for purchase at a certain price. You would only have to reimburse me the cost of the item (if you approve the purchase) and shipping by FedEx (preferably because it's the most convenient) or USPS Priority Mail (because they supply the box and it's flat-rate for different sizes). I'm not confident I'll see one, but you never know. I might even see a complete Ranger I for a parts radio for me (I haven't restored mine yet), and if the meter is the same, we might work out something.
