Caroline County, Virginia Daniel group

My interest is primarily in the line of William Daniel who was born about 1680 and died in December 1764 or early January 1765. He died testate and his will was presented for probate on 10 January 1765, but most records in Caroline were lost during the Civil War. A group of 20 Daniel men have taken Y DNA tests at Family Tree DNA and resulting primary record research has proved that they descend from William Daniel 1680-1765. A write up of this research and information about the first three or four generations is available at:

The male Daniel line of William Daniel 16801765 was represented in Caroline County from 1728 until around 1800 by which time the Daniel name from this line disappeared in Caroline as these Daniel men moved west and south. An unrelated Daniel group which descends from James Daniel of Essex County, VA moved to Caroline County in the 1760s or early 1770s and male Daniels from that line were in Caroline after 1800.

Re: Cynthia Ann Daniel b. 1810 TN d. Abt. 1860 MO

Congratulations on being the first to post to the new Daniel group!

Have you checked to see if the county records are available for viewing at FamilySearch.org?

Cynthia Ann Daniel b. 1810 TN d. Abt. 1860 MO

Cynthia Ann was married to James Swanner in Marshall CountyTennessee in 1836. ? James Swanner died in 1842/43 in Wolf Island township, Mississippi County, MO (previously Scott County) Cynthia re-married in June 1844 in Scott County to William Bartlett. ?William Bartlett died in January/February 1848. As of 1853, Cynthia still went by the Bartlett name. I believe she died before the census of 1860 butI have no verification.
