Re: Joseph, “Job, Jobe,” Daniel and Elizabeth Calaway DNA match to William of Cedar Creek

Hello Janine!
I’m not sure where to begin. I also have dna tested on FamilyTreeDNA. I just found a thru line that connects us but I don’t know if we have a dna match. I should be under Beverly Markland or Beverly Markell. How are you listed? I have other dna tested as well. I contacted the Daniel DNA group and submitted dna kit ?information and my complete bio but I too am lacking a male Daniel to submit DNA. So I’m not sure he listed me or the bio I sent.
According to Kevin Daniel our Joseph Job Daniel is not a match for the VA branch of the Daniel line. Our Joseph Job Daniel’s descendants match a William Daniel of Cedar Creek Hundred in Delaware who I have been researching. Have found some good info but still searching for our Joseph and William connection.
I have information on William Mack Daniel and lean to believe he is a grandson of Joseph not the son. My info probably comes from you. I’m not sure where William Mack Daniel fits in yet.
I believe the son of Joseph Job is William J Daniel and born between 1780 and 1795. Maybe even before Isaac about 1887.
Family lore has the oldest child named Abner. I have never been convinced that this name is correct. Just not a family name and no connection to any known ancestor.? A First son would have been Much more likely to be named Abraham or Abram or… William. I would like to research this named son more. I have searched and found nothing.

I have the children of William and Argent as:
Lott,1816?
Elizabeth, 1818
Avis, 1822
Berry W, 1823
Celia Brewer, 1826 ( many connection to the Brewer family)
Nancy Jane,1834
This information comes from the descendants of Berry W. and seems solid)

I do not have much on John and Avis. 1830 census and family history. Only daughters listed.

However, I do have most of the younger Joseph Job Daniel children completely mapped out through first hand info and correspondence with living descendants and I can’t find where William Mack Daniel fits in with any of them.?
So, that only leaves John but then birth dates for William Mack are wrong for him being the father which leaves possibly Abner -Abraham, the oldest named son. Or a unknown ancestor. I suspect we have a brother to Joseph Job Daniel who is the link to the William of Cedar Creek Hundred. (I have a theory about this)
That’s a lot. Where do you want to start?
Your new cousin, Beverly

PS the first petition submitted by Elizabeth Callaway Daniel for pension was in 1843-44. I’m not sure what letter in 1853 you are referring to. Refresh my memory please.?

Hello, Beverly!

I have been researching the Joseph "Job" Daniel/Elizabeth Callaway branch for a few years now. I would love to join you in your research.

There is some confusion on Ancestry & elsewhere as to whether my 3rd great grandfather, William Mack Daniel (1805-1890), was the son or grandson of this couple. In Elizabeth Callaway's Revolutionary War pension application, there is a letter written in 1853 from Elizabeth's son, William Daniel, from Lawrenceburg, TN. The William that was married to Argent had already died by 1853, & William Mack Daniel was living in Lawrence County, TN, at this time. However, another theory is that William Mack Daniel (along with John Buckley Daniel, 1809-1860) was the son of Job & Elizabeth's son John (1789-), who was married to Avis.?

My mother & I have both tested with Ancestry. We are also on Gedmatch, FamilyTreeDNA & WikiTree. I look forward to hearing back from you!
