I have a Sion Daniel, b 1795 Halifax VA, son of
Ambrose who was son of Peter Sr. d 1788 Halifax.
Peter Sr. had sons James and Ambrose and there must
be Peter Jr.
This Peter Jr could be the one you have making the
will in 1791. This Sion b1795 is too young to be his
friend, so there must be another Sion in the
previous generation as well.

Ref Peter Sr.'s wife Sarah Randall:
Children of Sarah
James Daniel b: 20 JUL 1728 in Halifax County,
Virginia, USA (Lt Rev War)
William Daniel b: 1732 in Halifax County
Peter Daniel b: 1734
Sarah Daniel b: 1736
Randall Daniel b: 1738
NOTE: NO AMBROSE!
Had Sarah died and Peter married Mary Ambrose and
then child Ambrose b 1738??
------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes about Ambrose:
His will was proved in the May 1795 term of court.
Page 147 of "Heritage History of Chester County,
South Carolina", 1982, says that he moved from
Halifax Co., NC, to York Co., SC.
"Captain Bill", Book Three, 1990, by Robert J.
Stevens, says that he was of Halifax Co., VA. [these
two Halifax counties are just a few miles apart on
the VA-NC border]
A descendant of this Ambrose tested his dna to be
R-M269.
This categorically removes him from the Roger Daniel
IV lineage which is I2.

I am interested in information on the earliest
Daniels in Rowan County, NC.
I found a Peter Daniel who made a will in 1791 naming
his wife Winneford and son Paul. Other children are
mentioned but not by name. He also names his friend,
Sion Daniel.
A Winny Daniel appears in the 1800 census--probably
Peter's widow.
I am particularly interested in a Peter Daniel who
married Sally Lofton in Rowan County in 1803. Some
researchers are attributing this as a second marriage
for Peter Daniel, son of Charles Daniel and Sarah
Tate. The son of Charles married Jane Mayfield in 1788
in Warren County, NC. Jane's father, Abraham Mayfield,
named her in his will in 1809 so she was still living.
I do not believe the Peter who married Jane Mayfield
and the Peter who married Sally Lofton are the same
man, but wanted to attach Sally to the correct Peter.?
Any help appreciated,
