I checked my "stuff" and at one time the CP operated into Oak Point Yard in the Bronx but I don't believe they ever crossed the Hell Gate to Fresh Pond.

Did D&H actually use Hell Gate Bridge?? And if so, how and why?
Or is this reference to D&H simply evolutionary misinforma
