hrust bearing

I await my belts for the old/new lot 4 #2050.This week end!
I noticed the spindle thrust washers are spinning with the spindle.? There is no adjustment left.? I will make a new nut. The washers themselves, what material?
I have access to UHMW? (Ultra High density, Miserable to Work) plastic used for bearing and wear surfaces in the paper industry.?
It is a bit bouncy tho.? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Larry

Easiest is to buy one of the online bearing stores... ?in a Pinch, ?I made one from 1 inch bronze rod one time. Drill it to the correct diameter and part off to whatever thickness you might need.

Larry order a set of thrust washers and a needle? bearing from MSC or Mc Master Carr to go in place of the red thrust washer under your adjusting nut.? Total thickness of the two thrust washers and bearing is .139 so should take up the play you have.? Also allows you to set the spindle end play at zero and also will not let the left head stock bearing heat up like they like to do if you have the plain thrust washer set for close to zero end play.? UHMW is worthless as a thrust washer also.? It works OK for? slow moving things like conveyors and such but not for? high speed use.? The best material f or a thrust washer is modibdinum filled 12 ¨C 12 nylon.
