Lot 4 lathe and tooling … free
john rosberg
开云体育Lot 4, no. 256. Two three jaw chucks, a lantern tool holder and what is likely a shop made tool holder (by the previous owner). I believe all the change gears are here, as well and a collet closer (twist to close). The lathe was given to me, so I’m passing it along the same way.
Pickup from the northern Chicago suburbs.

Steady Rest
Is there anyone that might have a Steady Rest that fits a Dalton B-4 Lot 4/30” Bed. I know they are not to be found but do pop up now and then. Since I do not know what it looks like for my Dalton when out at flea markets or on the internet looking? pictures would work nice and maybe some dimensions to work off of would be very nice if someone has one. Any help out there would be great .Thanks Terry ? Sent from for Windows ? |
Re: WTB: new chuck for Lot 5

Could you take a picture of yours for me so that I would know what I am looking for Dennis ? It would be a great help . Thank you Terry

Re: WTB: new chuck for Lot 5
Hy Ryan As to chucks the Lot 4 lathes came with a 4 inch three jaw and a 5 inch four jaw.? As to 5 inch 3 jaw chucks the Bison is as good as they get.? I have?used them for over 30 years.? The Polish make good stuff.? As to mounting you will need a plain back chuck whatever?brand you get.? The spindle on your Lot 4 is a bit of a bastard as there are no threaded backplates available for them.? You would hope that you could use the one that your chuck is currently mounted to.? I hope this helps a little bit. Dennis On Sun, Sep 3, 2023 at 7:30?PM Ryan Bardsley <rbardsley@...> wrote: Hi guys, |

Hi guys, |
WTB: new chuck for Lot 5
Hi guys,
The chuck on my Lot 5 seems to be on its last legs. Can anyone recommend a modern replacement that is affordable and able to be easily mounted to my spindle? Seems like the one I have has a 3-jaw setup with a plain back that threads onto the spindle. Seems like there are a few options from Bison, but not sure if anyone has tried mounting these before. Any suggestions welcome. I use my Lot 5 almost every day and really need something that can reliably hold my work. Bushings and spindle are all running well. Just need a new chuck. Thanks! Re: Dalton type B-6 for sale
Sorry, Terry, it sold last weekend. Young guy, in Tillamook, Oregon. He is probably going to but the smaller Lot 6 also, in a couple of weeks. The smaller one is also a Lot 6, but the spindle thru hole is smaller than that B version. His name is Chuck and I will give you his phone number via pm if you'd like to call him.

Re: Dalton type B-6 for sale
Dan do you still have the Dalton Lathe ?? If you do could I ask a favor as in some pictures of the steady rest I see on the lathe. I have a B4/30" Dalton and have been looking for Steady Rest but not to sure what I am looking for if that makes sence. Dennis said he has never found anything that will fit except the one made for the Dalton. It would be nice to see what I am looking for. Thank you for your time. Terry St.Pete Florida

My brother bought this years ago from Dennis Turk, and it has one of Dennis' reproduction thread dials on it. Cabinet with drawers not included. I wanted members here to have 1st shot on it before listing it on Craigslist or eBay. I'd prefer not to ship, since I've seen so many disasters caused by careless shippers of lathes, shapers, etc. Not to mention prohibitive shipping rates. Dennis can chime in with any additional information on this.? It is currently? in Tillamook, Oregon, but I may bring it over to my shop in Salem within a week or two. Thanks,??? Dan Linscheid |
Re: Dalton type B-6 for sale
Dan I would be very interested in the lathe "BUT" I live in St.Petersburg Florida not like I am right around the corner. Terry
