Re how are you.......so funny and one conversation i have had lately. like, does how are you just attach to hello or hi.......does that person really care?? I think NOT.?? I try not to use the cliche as it annoys me when others do but i am sure that most people dont even think about it.? if we really cared how that other person is it would be amazing ..........most people cant seem to get their snoots out of their iphones etc.......we live in a generation of brain dead detached individuals.

Follow Me--I'm Having Drinks With Elvis
jhdouglas59
I saw this on a t-shirt at Luckenbach, Tx a couple of days ago.
Not that I am an Elvis fan--just thought it was clever. I don't necessarily believe that Elvis is still alive, although it seems plausible. Or perhaps the meaning is that the end is near and the person wearing the t-shirt is on his own farewell tour to join Elvis in the afterlife. Just give the elderly guy wearing it a break. The elderly guy was probably actually younger than me. Elderly is a fleeting definition to me. Also the guy in the t-shirt was accompanied by a lady wearing a dress made from flowered drapes (or so it appeared to me). Perchance she was the archangel who travels with Elvis. It only seems poetic that Elvis may be pondering a future performance at the Luckenbach Dancehall. Maybe he can sing a song along with Waylon Jennings who sang the Luckenbach, Texas song along with Willie Nelson and the boys. Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas for the next class gathering. Who knows what we will see? As an aside, here is a great answer to the next person who asks a question to you. Just say "Why do you ask?" and watch the dumbfounded look on the questioner's face. This answer works well with the mundane trite question "How are you?" Nobody actually wants to know how you are doing. It is just idle conversation. So how are you all doing? The Questionmeister |

We go to our local RV Park (Fiesta RV Park in Boerne TX) for the Hill Country House Concert series. Live music after a potluck meal. Check out the website www.hillcountryhouseconcerts.com to see a sampling of the live music. Anyone else out there attend house concerts? It's a great way to see live entertainment in a quiet setting of great singers in a small crowd. Normal cost is $15.00 for the concert. After having spent many strenuous hours tabulating the results of the votes cast for bread vs cornbread dressing, here are the results: 4 votes for bread dressing 1 vote for cornbread dressing 17 non votes for disinterested members who don't care what kind (if any) of dressing So if you want the results for voting members, the result is: 80% favor bread dressing 20% favor cornbread dressing On the other hand, if you count the non votes, the result is: 18.1818% favor bread dressing 4.5455% favor cornbread dressing 77.2727% don't care So I guess the winner (probably will always be a winner) is: The don't care/disinterested memmbers win in a landslide!!! I will use this same methodology in the next presidential election in 2012 to project a winner. A logical time to make the prediction would be February 29, 2012. My current prediction (subject to change of course) is that Steve Forbes ekes out a victory over Barack Hussein Obama. If Steve Forbes opts out of the election in the primaries, then the obvious result is Barack Hussein Obama winning 77.2727% of the popular vote and 92.312% in the electoral college in 2012. I think the don't care populace outweigh the informed voters next election. Have a great turkey day and don't stuff yourself. Let the turkey get stuffed instead. The Turkeymeister |

have to go back to the 2010 postings for a tabulation. I do recall some nonsense about tofurkey. At least someone out there recalls previous postings to the group dalton59. We will be traveling to and from Wally World the next few months. Glad to hear there is some interest in the 2011 version of the poll. Maybe we should have a poll on cranberries. Fresh or that jellystuff from a can? I like both. How about fresh sweet potatoes (or is it sweet potatos) or Sugary Sam's canned yams? What is the diffence between a sweet potato or a yam? Who knows or who cares? I like both. What uses are there for turkey skin? Name 10 uses. I can't think of even one. The Turkeymeister --- In dalton59@..., patricia lee <pjlee1117@...> wrote:

i swear you took the poll last year....LOL? My dressing is german. PA dutch style I guess since that is where my recipe came from......
lots of torn up stale white and brown bread, sautee'd onions and celery in tons of butter, mix together and then add a pkg of pepperidge SP? farm herb mix and cover with instant mashed potatoes (my gram use the real thing)? then add enough chicken or turkey broth to moisten (I use part bullion cubes) and salt an pepper.? Mix well and then melt butter in a large skillet and add the stuffing an brown it or make into patties for the next day.?
What are the holidays without butter cream cheese sugar.
?
we will be leaving this weekend for FL to have Thanksgiving and then on Dec 1st will fly to Napa Valley CA with our kids who have a time share there.?? Then we will visit with friends there for 5 days and then fly to Missoula MT to visit our oldest daughter and g kids who we have not seen since 08.? Then back to ATL on the 19th of Dec and return to Blue Ridge and hopefully load up the RV and get back to Tampa for Christmas.?? So :Happy Holidays to all and safe travels.? Would love to hear of others plans and catch up on their lives.? love pjlee

I am starting a poll to ask who likes which kind of stuffing for
turkeys? I prefer bread stuffing (made from stale white and/or brown bread with mushrooms, bacon and hot peppers plus celery and onions with perhaps some oysters). I suspect this is somehow related to my Dalton years. Cornbread stuffing is fowl (sic) tasting to me. What is your preference? The deadline for voting is Sunday Nov 20 at 8 pm (CST). The results will be meaningless. Don't forget to take the turkey innards from the turkey before roasting. Hoping your turkey is edible, Johnny |
