Re: Cheesy lighted Christmas wreaths circa 1959

New update.

Now I have finally hoisted my red chili pepper lights in our kitchen
above the counters. Now this is real class-perhaps a bit cheesy also.

Christmas would not be Christmas without the red chili pepper lights I always say.

Nothing like a fake Christmas tree and red chili pepper lights to
make for an old fashioned Christmas.

Too bad we don't have the aluminum Christmas tree anymore.

I must say the newer fake trees are so realistic that they shed needles just like the real trees.

All I need now is a Lionel train at the base of the tree to make
for a real authentic Christmas.

May all you lads and lasses have a neato Christmas,

The Curmudgeon Weaselmeister

Addendum to my previous e-mail.

I now have found some of the wreaths I was pondering before.

If a person were to search for cellophane lighted Christmas wreaths
on the internet, one would find that there are some of these
available as memorabilia. The ones I found are red with red lights
in the center as a bulb for the candle fixture.

One might imagine that the cellophane wreaths are some kind of
fire hazard. Probably true that they are indeed.

I had forgotten that they made them with red lights.

That must explain why so many people drove past our house.

Maybe they thought it was the Dalton red light district.

I suppose I am the only one to see the humor in that--my mother
had no clue what was so funny about that.

The Curmudgeon strikes again.

Merry Christmas.

Johnny

Help!

As I was putting up my new eco-friendly dim C7 outside multi-colored
Christmas lights outside last week, I thought back to the 50's
and what kind of decorations we used to have at our home. These new
eco-freak lights save a lot of energy but they are very hard to see
(especially if a person has cataracts such as I).

Finally I had the flashback about the cheesy artificial green wreaths
with a light in it (orange or yellow I think) and how it might somehow
look nifty today. So I surfed the internet for these cheesy wreaths
and alas no luck finding them. I think all the Christmas stuff got
trashed when my mother moved from her house to the nursing homes
a few years ago.

Anybody remember of which I speak? (Miss Campbell would be proud
that I did not end my question with a preposition).

May the spirit of Christmas past be with you all,

non-participating--more junk to follow as I reflect on life's futilities).
