Following the illusionary Wizard, the group asks their questions-
"So, you are Otiluke, correct?"
“I am an abstraction of Otiluke. A simulacrum if you will,”
the Wizard clarifies, “made of elemental air, rather than snow and ice.”
"How are you doing this?"
“The essence of Otiluke resides within the flawless ruby that acts as the golem’s heart,” he explains. “The creation process involved decades of study and experimentation, several hundred failures, countless diamonds, rubies, and
sapphires, a Manual of Golems, multiple failed phylacteries, dying twice and being forcefully resurrected, deconstructing and reconstructing the spells Magic Jar, Simulacrum, Reincarnate and Planar Binding, and various exotic oils and unguents, a deep delve
into Necromancy and a fortunate random encounter with an Avatar-ah, here we are,” he concludes as the group arrives at yet another pair of tunnels, of which the Wizard takes the right.
“Why all of the high drama with the illusions?and the Modrons?”
“When some of the most powerful spellcasters in the realms want you not simply dead but erased from existence,”
he says, “one needs more than just contingencies. The constructs are designed to lead Rary and Robilar, should they discover my existence, on a snipe hunt through the tunnels, provide mechanical distraction and disruption, and alert me to potential interruption.
They are rather unreliable though, especially before Awakening.”
The tunnel descends for several paces, then crosses a shallow stream, and ascends again to a left curve. As you round the bend, a well lit area opens up ahead. Entering into the large and highly ornate chamber, you see a heavyset man scribbling
frantically, page after page of vellum lies scattered about, whilst a tall, muscular guardsman berates the fellow. “… and furthermore if my men have- OHO!”
The guardsman notices your entrances and brings his sword to stance, but seeing his companions with you, drops the aggression and stammers joyfully, “What? How? Huzzah!”
And what do you do?

The construct’s awakening? What’s that entail??What’s?your goal?” He nods to Hardcastle and McReeRee when he sees them, trusting his more talkative friends to get them up to speed.

North is impressed! He raises his eyebrows at all the magic and wonder in the room.
He finds himself exploring all around the area and happily discussing magic theory with Luke. He even learns a few things from him.
It's not often that North gets to spend time with a wizard of this caliber.
"We should compare wands sometime." He says very nonchalantly.
Listening to Tabby, he gives her a nod and says "Yes, this is he.", then slides over to the most wizardly bookshelf he can find, dances his fingers across the shelves until he finds 'Wizards 101' - an essential in every wizards library, and hands it to her.
"Read this." He says.
Knowing Luke is an expert spellsmith, North will definitely want to show off some of his own homebrew spells. He does a few spell combos with meta magic and will even polymorphs a cave rat if there's one available.
He continues with other spells "and I call this one, Gaseous Form!"
Then for items, he'll have Sweet William show his axe that absorbed the Light spell after so many uses. Tabby's bracers too. And he'll even display the Mysterious Pyramid item that he's had in his backpack for a while... "I was told a master of divination might know something about this item." He says "No one knows what it is."
Finally relaxing in a chair somewhere he'll ask "When do you think Rary will come back for you, if ever? Being a wizard so deeply connected to natural elements such as yourself you must miss the sun... At least a little bit?"

Flynn more or less ignored the conversations between Luke and the party.? He just wanted to find the guardsmen and then return them to town and figure what his next steps were.? Completing his quest for Graggar was also of importance. He still had complete
confidence that North or William will act true to form to screw up any plans as consequences seem to be few and far between for their actions.? He sighed and followed along, taking in the well-oiled machine of Luke's grotto..

Listening to Tabby, he gives her a nod and says "Yes, this is he.", then slides over to the most wizardly bookshelf he can find, dances his fingers across the shelves until he finds 'Wizards 101' - an essential in every wizards library, and hands it to her.
"Read this." He says.
Knowing Luke is an expert spellsmith, North will definitely want to show off some of his own homebrew spells. He does a few spell combos with meta magic and will even polymorphs a cave rat if there's one available.
He continues with other spells "and I call this one, Gaseous Form!"
Then for items, he'll have Sweet William show his axe that absorbed the Light spell after so many uses. Tabby's bracers too. And he'll even display the Mysterious Pyramid item that he's had in his backpack for a while... "I was told a master of divination might know something about this item." He says "No one knows what it is."

North enjoys the bit of conversation he gets from the wizard. The part about the wands makes him reveal his Wand of Intelligence and cast it upon himself to show off.
But why the abruptness! He's concerned.
Receiving the pyramid back he uses his wand-induced heightened intelligence to double check that what was returned is in fact the real pyramid. This is a special item to him.
He shakes his head in disappointment when this wizard gives him no answer to what it is.
Even moreso there is no answer to the Rary question either. North assumes Luke doesn't want any help from them- which is also disappointing.?
Seeing the dimension door and the group, he says "Well wait a minute. What's the rush! Don't you even care about Graggar? ... Dimension door only goes 500 feet gang, so don't think you're going too far." The gnome is acting in a bit of protest.
"Well at least give us some food for Graggar." He stomps a foot... "And..." He leans into this next comment... "I thought we could duel!" "Wiz Vs Wiz! A test of skill! Everyone loves a good wizard battle." North knows that his prepared spells in addition to his intelligence buff gives him at least a medium chance of contenting with this mage who is one of the best wizards in the world! What an opportunity! He then asks the wizard... And what do you do?

I thought we?had all the guards and this would take us back to the village. Sweet William, who was going through last, stands by to snatch North up and carry him through the magic gate like a football if the mega mage decides to take him up on his challenge.
