The walls of this chamber are etched with countless silver signs, runes, and other arcane spell scripts in bits and pieces. All the previous attempts of the Otiluke Simulacrum have been documented and recorded in an elaborate unintelligible
cypher. As McReeRee continues to transcribe as much information as he can,
North realizes that these are all?failures. The knowledge might be useful to someone, but it will take years of study just to make some
sense of?why?these failed, and decades if not centuries to fully comprehend how to make it useful. It would likely be easier to simply start
from scratch than try to decipher these flounderings.
¡°So, Luke, why are you making so many of these constructs and what are you going to do with them.¡±
¡°They need to be replaced frequently,¡±?the Wizard explains.?¡°They
fall off ledges, stumble into pools, and generally fall apart quickly. They aren¡¯t the highest quality, especially the ones making duplicates of duplicates of duplicates.¡±
¡°Also, what is awakening? Is it your awakening? The construct¡¯s awakening? What¡¯s that entail?¡±
¡°Awakening is giving the constructs their sense of self- their awareness and limited intelligence. It¡¯s not a true awakening, you see. It¡¯s a limited
intelligence. Just enough to comprehend their tasks, rather than simply following instructions.¡±
¡°What¡¯s?your goal?¡±
¡°Ultimately, to survive. To be prepared for Rary and Robilar¡¯s return. And to defeat them summarily, once and for all. In the meantime, I study,
learn, and advance the utilization of The Weave.¡±
And what do you do?
