Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375¡ãF (190¡ãC) and line an 8¡Á8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
2. Make the crust and topping: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter
or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the beaten egg and stir until combined. Press half of the mixture firmly into the bottom
of the prepared baking dish to form the crust.
3. Prepare the blackberry filling: In a separate bowl, combine the blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Gently toss until
the blackberries are evenly coated.
4. Assemble the bars: Spread the blackberry mixture evenly over the crust. Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the blackberries.
5. Bake: Bake for 35¨C40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the filling is bubbly. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
