Re: Crossovers
Having listen to and still do 3 pairs of Bozak symphonies which lack a real top end over 12k the dq10¡¯s are much more open in voices and cymbal area and triangles. I never heard a sound out of piezo

Re: Crossovers
The word bright is a relative term. Redoing the xovers is a good move especially with the type and age of the original caps. Contrary to most who claim that the piezo was the culprit for the harsh

Re: Crossovers
Gosh guys aren¡¯t they brighten up with stock mid range and tweeters. I redid the crossovers with clarity kept in order to calm him down a bit. I think the last thing we want to do is add any more

Re: Crossovers
The oem Philips tweeter had a shroud I front of the dome to disperse the sound and reduce beaming.? That was nice.? Not in the KEF.

The T27A variants are newer than the T27.? Maybe a model change alone...who knows??? ? Mine are 4OHM.

Re: Crossovers
Yep MB Quart it is. Over the years I've tried several different types. To date I prefer the now old oem's to them all. The newer crop has been more efficient. But that causes issues and may require

Blows away might even be an understatement lol. Btw, wasn't there a recent post about the factory tweeter and mid being mbquart?Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

Re: Crossovers
The KEF T27A tweeter blows away the stock Philips.? And, since it goes over 20K, you can discard the Piezo super tweeter.? The previous owner also came up with a radical crossover network based on a

Re: Crossovers
And here's the schematic for one incredible sounding DQ. The t27 mounts to the back of the mid dome in place of the factory tweeter. I find this is done best by using the inner of two tweeter bolt

Re: Crossovers
Here's a quick drawing of the schematic. Tweeter will be 8 ohms normal polarity if the inductors are run this way. The addition I made myself was returning the factory inductor #5 into the mix. It

Hi john, I was referring to one of the responses about using a t27 tweeter. You can just about remove everything on the board after cap 1, aside from the .8 and .2 inductors associated with the mid

Hi John, First off have you cleaned up the fuse holder and swapped the fuse? Try that as those do present issues. At a minimum polish everything with a good metal polish. Fuse included prior to

Hi George, I too have a pair of these. Mine were done by Beatty Stereo in the 90's, and I am sold on what they've done. It is the perfect tweeter for the dq's. I did a few things to the crossover to
