The top one in the second photo looks like an original DQ 10 woofer. It has a Masonite surround so it’s a 10 inch woofer in a 12 inch frame. ?This one should work well. If you’re not familiar with rebuilding speakers, I would send it to a professional and have them check it out. I use Simply Speakers in Florida. They’ve done a great job on 3 DQ 10 woofers that I had them refurb.?
I would not use the second 12 inch woofer in these speakers. It was the original design that Jon Dahlquist had for them, and some of the early speakers have a full 12 inch woofer, but for reasons mentioned in posts on this site, they switched to a 10 inch woofer in a 12 inch frame
Maybe someone here has one of the original advent woofers they’d be interested in selling? You could also search craigslist or other used speaker forums to see if you can find one.
Other folks here can chime in why, but I wouldn’t use the 12 inch woofer in the DQ 10s… It just won’t sound right.?

Thoughts? Do I try them or is this just a complete no-go? I'm guessing they will sound very different than the originals. I looked online and have not been able to find a pair that looks the same - even on old advents.
