Thanks for all of the input. ?When I pulled the drivers to refoam them the Masonite looked solid but I will check that again. ?It sounds like the cone could be rubbing on the inside. ?Almost like when you push the cone down and it’s not perfectly centered and you get that rubbing noise. ?I actually haven’t checked the temp on the inductors on that speaker. ?It’s the other one that plays fine is where I am getting the heat from. It got up to 190° F last night when I was jamming out with the kids ?. ?The same speaker with the driver issue only plays out of the driver and mid bass. ? So I’m sure the crossover needs a rebuild. ?
